So we've had our girl for about 3 years now, she is about 10 years old. She has always moulted loads throughout the year but over the last few months we've noticed she has stopped shedding. As in, hardly any fur on the floor at all. Is this something I should be worried about or is it natural at her age? Thanks x

Hi, We just adopted a husky. Her right back paw was wrapped when we adopted her but the rescue said it would be completely healed in 3 days. We took the bandage off and she is missing a toe. This was not the injury they told us it was. We took her to the vet and we're giving her antibiotics, probiotics, and soaking her foot in betadine and water every day now. But we don't know how to keep her foot clean when we take her for walks cause the vet said we need to leave it unwrapped to heal. Are there plastic injury booties to go under other booties that I can put on her paw for walks? Has anyone experienced helping a husky heal from losing a toe? I'd ap…

I make bone broth for my two boys on a weekly basis (I get lamb ribs - the bone portion of their meals, spines - you would be amazed at how much meat there is on a lamb spine, and leg bones - sawn in half for me) all free, - in exchange for a couple of 600ml tubs of bone broth. Most of the bone broth goes into the freezer for the dogs during the week - but I also fill up two ice cube trays with the liquid only - and once frozen empty the trays into a small container - and doggie bone broth ice lollies are on tap whenever the dogs fancy one. Not only do the dogs LOVE them, but bone broth ice lollies also do not set as hard as plain water does – so it…

Hello I have a 7-year-old husky and I need any information that I can get on zinc deficiencies and how to treat them. She started scratching off the fur around her eyes and muzzle a couple of months ago. I took her to my vet and after tests and a couple of weeks she is convinced that it is a zinc deficiency that is common in Huskies. My vet has had her on zinc tablets since it started and it actually looks like it's getting worse I now have to keep a cone on her so she doesn't scratch it throughout the day and when I take her back into the vet for her checkups the vet says she thinks it's getting better but it clearly isn't. Any advice or help…

Hey, so basically I got to female puppies and well, I’m kinda concerned about their growth, they seem to be kinda wooly’ish. Thing is they’re just 2 months old, and everytime I search for how 2 month old puppies they don’t look like mine at all, also I’ve looked at size charts and they kinda have the height (missing a few inches) and they’re missing weight. Like I said, I’ve looked and almost all photos I’ve seen for 2 month puppies look pretty different from mine, one weighs 2 kg at 2 months, so should I be concerned? :/

Hi, I’m new here. I have a 1 year old female husky who will be 2 in November. I have been having a problem with an extremely potent odor coming from her. It smells musty, almost like really dirty socks. I have brushed her and bathed her and it never seems to help. I have even taken her to the vet to see if it was some type of skin problem and they basically ignored the issue and didn’t seem to see anything wrong. I have noticed that it happens at the same time every year. In June right as summer is starting and it lasts a few months then goes away. Anyone know what it could be? It’s really driving me nuts 😩

Goodevening i have a 6 year old husky that pukes up clear liquid 3-4 times daily. He seems always so dehydrated so i kept givin him water and he would puke more. Its been going on for a year now, ive got a blood test done and nothing has came back positive. The drs say hes a very healthy dog. So in the past 2 months i have been only givin him small amounts of water a few times a day along with only feeding him once at noon. It has reduced the pukeing to 3-4 times a day. Anyone ever experiance this or have any thoughts what i could do to make him stop? Thanks!

Hi guys, this is Jax. He’s a two year old Siberian Husky and he is my best friend. [emoji851] Jax recently just last week, had been diagnosed with Epilepsy. One morning Jax just went into a seizure, which he had never had before. Followed by another seizure the next morning right before his vet appointment. I got him to his regular vet where they ran a whole bunch of tests on him to rule out any certain causes for these seizures. All of the tests they ran came back negative, but Jax had another seizure right before he left the vet which made it 3 seizures in a span of 48 hours. We decided to take him to the 24 hour emergency vet and have him observed over night and ge…

Ubnfortunately Rocky picked up a paralysis tick (despite been treated for it using Advantix - we now use Frontline), consequently the vet had to shave off his entire coat to make sure there was not anymore before administering the paralysis tick serum. Because we have 2 huskies, they wanted to check the girl and shaved her too as a precaution. 2/3 months later, Rocky's coat has grown back as normal, however Skylers coat it still patchy and not growing evenly. Has anyone else shaved their husky before and if so how did their coat grow back. If I had the choice I would not have shaved either coat, but I guess as a precautionary measure at the time it made sense. Th…

Hello! So i’ve been buying my own offal and have had some issues preparing it. I have to have it minced/blended for my dog or she wont eat it. Although mincing/blending it is harder than I thought it would be, mincing it unfrozen just makes alot of the offal wrap around my manual mincer and blending it does the same thing it just wraps around the blades clogging it up! I’ve tried it frozen also and it just bounces around the blender as it’s so solid and won’t push into the mincer for the same reason. Any ideas or links to blenders/mincers people use would be great!

Hi guys, I’m just wondering if you could help me decide when to neuter my pup. He’s 7 months old, and one testicle hasn’t dropped yet. There is so much conflicting information on the internet about whether to do it now or wait longer. The vet has suggested to neuter him around 8-9 months. The higher risk of cancer certainly makes me think to do it now, but I don’t want to cause him any problems later! Any advice or more information would be great!

Hi, has anyone come across this with your husky? I’ve just noticed my 6 month old puppy has this dark brown outline around his iris and his eye is very red. I will call the vets tomorrow to check but just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas! The first two pictures is to show the brown outline and the third is his other eye, it’s still red but doesn’t have that brown pigmentation. Thanks

Hi all, I have a Husky/Labrador mix (looks way more like a husky) and he's turned 14 years old last month. Have had him since he was 4 months old. I would like some advice or opinions if possible. He's been eating 3 things for the majority of his life, Origen regular adult dog food, as well as beef and chicken breasts from the grocery store that I give him twice a day. Also Pedigree dog biscuits. He was 80lbs, than 72, than 52 last month. Last year his back legs cramped up and could barely walk so I brought him to the vet and they gave me Metacam to give him and suggested I walk him 2-3 times a day and not too far. He recovered very well but he's not like …

We have two huskies. One female age 6. One male age 5months. Female never been raw fed (we acquired her from a neighbour 5 years ago who didnt take care of her), and we can't transition her as it upsets her stomach and makes her throw up. Male (puppy) raw fed from birth so we continued this after getting him from breeder. He ate most things no problem but we quickly learned he was not a fan of chicken. This had since been eliminated from his diet. Lately, Female has started to not eat her food at mealtimes - standing and staring at it, as though male is making her feel uncomfortable eating. In the meantime, little male bugger face has started refusing all…

Hey guys, I’m looking for some advice my husky just turned one and he has a testicle that still hasn’t descended. The vets here have all encouraged me to neuter him but the surgery will be very invasive as they will have to cut into his abdomen. His temper is amazing and he’s such a good boy. I really don’t want to put him through this. Am I doing the right thing by not neutering him? Any advice would be much appreciated thanks!

I finally managed to get an appointment with our vet - been trying on and off for 6 months but as it was not urgent they would not see him - seeing urgent cases only. Around 6 months ago I noticed that Marley's eyes were not as clear as they were when he was a pup, they were clouding over. They were not bothering him, not weeping or anything so I just kept an eye on it. Today I finally got him to the vet. The vet came out to him and we chatted for a bit - then he tried to take Marley inside, as soon as Marley twigged I was not coming in - all hell let loose. Bucking, jumping, pulling on lead, biting at lead, yelping - it took Andrew and one of his n…

Hi, so my boyfriend was at the store and came across “BurtsBees for Dogs” which is essentially just toothpaste that is safe for dogs. I am a little nervous about it and don’t want to get my dog sick and was wondering if anyone had tried this product on their husky? Colt is a year old Siberian and weighs about 55 pounds if that helps at all

Hi all, I am new to this forum but was looking for some advice for my 6-month old husky! He is very playful, enjoys walks and is very strong! However, since he was around 5 months of age, he started to show an arched back. This was accompanied with pretty severe muscle tremors (severity: 9/10). We took him to the vet and, after examinations and blood tests, we were told that his new food may not be suitable for him (we had weaned him onto his new kibble completely the before these symptoms occurred). So we were told to put pup onto a gluten-free diet, which we did and the tremors have reduced drastically but haven’t gone away completely (they’re around a 2/10 now). O…

It’s no secret that I am a raw feeder – and nutrition nerd - that being said I wondered if the following might be of interest to you – no matter whether you are a kibble feeder, raw feeder, dehydrated raw feeder, wet food feeder ect. No matter how you feed your dog(s) there are things you can do to seriously ‘up’ the nutritional content of your beloved companion’s food - very simply and easily. Just add three things to their diet (or just one of them) - no matter what that diet might consist of:- 1. Bone Broth 2. Chlorella (or Spirulina) 3. A fresh (frozen) herring or sardine 4. If you want to go totally ‘healthy’ add abou…
