Hi all,

Just to let you know, earlier today I updated tapatalk to the latest version which resolves quite a lot of issues.

- Solved issue that prevent show private messages
- Solved issue with new line when new topic/new pm/reply
- Solved issue that prevent show subforums
- Tested against IPB4 4.0.12.1
- Updated code that comunicate with Tapatalk.com servers.
- rewrited the code that parse post messages, now when quote, the editor will show less html and more bbcode style content
- added support for emoji
- solved issues with system emoticons
- solved issues with nested quotes
- solved issue with images not showing properly in some cases
- added support for "merge concurrent post" feature. In app it will show odd after do the post until you refresh the topic due our apps does not support already that feature, but in forum system the posts will be merged same as if you doing it on web.
- solved issue that not show "there is new replies" on topic when posting from tapatalk.
- updated connectivity with Tapatalk servers
- updated smarbanner code

- improved support for emoji not show in some installations
- now, the original forum emoticons are translated into emoji in app, so the new line before emoticons gone
- solved issue that make in some installations private conversations not work properly.

At some point I will yes. In process of changing jobs at the moment which should give me a lot more time for here, so I will be concentrating on things like this, and indeed some very very new things  

We dont add anything to tapatalk, we only provide the interface to allow login and to access posts

There are quite a lot of apple like features in there, but to be honest thats not a bad thing. On my mac I'm using office because its the best out there, I use Skype etc which are microsoft stuff. To be honest Ive been playing with windows 10 for a bit now and Im kinda in the same camp as David on this one. Windows 8 is fine once you get to know it and its actually quite fast in comparison to previous versions. Its just that their overall design was a nightmare. They seem to have resolved that with a vengence on windows 10 though. Looks very nice.

Its actually interesting being a windows user for so long and now using a mac how many things are good in both. I now use a mac at home and windows at work. When Im at work it drives me up the wall than I haven't got the mac features I like and when Im at home I do the same with the windows features lol. For anyone who does use a mac though, consider parallels desktop. Its truly the only thing to run windows on a mac with if you have the memory for it. You can basically run windows applications in windows but have them open like they are on the mac. I can even open the start menu from my dock. Great for me because I do windows development. Get the best of both worlds.

1. Download all windows updates and install until it says there are no more left to download
2. Open cmd prompt (make sure its open as administrator
3. Run the following command "wuauclt.exe /updatenow" which will force windows 10 download through windows update

Still got a problem?

1. Go and download windows 10 from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
2. Click it
3. Click update now

OK, the Popular topics I was referring to are marked as popular after x replies over a given period. Its not the topic feed at the top of the forum. That will remain at 5 as we have the live feed on the home page (which is actually better anyways as its live updating)

If its windows 8, the setting is "screen resolution" when you right click.

I think its display settings on 7 if I remember correctly.

Sounds like is simply an out of date browser. If you have installed chrome you would get the latest version which Is why you have no problem with it. Gonna be doing some posts on this probably tomorrow Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

2) I understand that the skinnier layout is for other users.  Again I dont know how finite control you have but I know that there is a way to detect the resolution of the monitor in code and then change the width accordingly.  You may also be able to use a percentage in your width as another easier way to control the width for different resolutions. 

Its actually already responsive in design. To be honest not sure why people didn't like the fluid layout, but I guess everyone is different. What it has now is a maximum width and therefore it will still reduce in size if you go smaller, but there is a maximum width that it will allow for the site as a whole. I will be doing both versions once I finish with layout changed so that way people can chose their own preference.

Thats correct. It holds the text you were writing. This way you can write a ton of text and go out, go to another topic and reply, brush your teeth, have a weeks holiday, then come back and that mass of text is still there waiting for you.

This is highly likely to be because of the age of the browser. As with anything else, technology moves on. This is the very latest and will not support old browsers.

This sounds like you are not on the correct skin on re-reading this. Click on "Theme" at the bottom of the page and check you are using the v4.0.11 test version. 

Ability to remove messages from your message area is now re-added along with the ability to create folders and organise

Site home page now 2 column rather than 3 to accommodate the new layout

Linked in login now active - You can link your Linked in account to the site so you can login with Linked in from your account settings. You can also synchronise your Linked in photo with here.

Caching issue causing avatars to show up on incorrect accounts now resolved

Issue with site signatures now fixed

Have been working on some site changes and fixes to try and get this place back up to scratch. Still a way to go but hopefully going in the right direction.

1. Skin changed to a fixed width rather than fluid. I will however, once I have finished all amendments on the skin add both versions so that people can choose whichever one suits them the best.
2. Removed background image. Dunno why, it just somehow looks cleaner
3. Reduced the shadowing on forums as it was interupting layout
4. Upgraded to latest version to ensure that we have the latest bug fixes
5. Run optimisation on database tables to speed up the reload of some areas on the site that were running quite slow
6. Changed settings to show who liked content on the site rather than just giving a number of people who liked
7. Added additional security settings for admin areas (yeah I know it doesn't affect you guys, but will if it ended up going down because of it)
8. Fixed feed permissions issues
9. Increased feed refresh rate on main page
10. Popular topics now changed to be 10 posts in the last 2 hours
11. Facebook login now active - You can link your Facebook to the site so you can login with Facebook from your account settings. You can also synchronise your Facebook photo with here and same with statuses.
12. Google+ login now active - You can link your google+ to the site so you can login with google+ from your account settings. You can also synchronise your Google+ photo with here and same with statuses.
13. Twitter login now active - You can link your Twitter account to the site so you can login with Twitter from your account settings. You can also synchronise your Twitter photo with here and same with statuses.

We don't control the tapatalk app unfortunately. It seems however that you may have added more forums on there lol

Right click on desktop, select display properties and it will give you your screen resolution. I will need that so I can test it from here and correct it

Would especially think about the food. Vets are all said and done, businesses. Is the food good? Quite likely yes. But think of it as the equivalent of someone saying you need paracetamol and giving you the branded £5.99 ones when if you went to asda they are 40p and identical. Hi All,

Clare posted a topic earlier tonight regarding not liking the new layout. Now this is useful in some ways as without you guys telling me things, I don't know. Bare in mind that the movement of things you will get used to, even if you think you won't. We've been here many times before, and I remember when we moved to the previous version (that everyone now says they liked) everyone hated it lol. Its simply what you're familiar with.

Reality is though, some things need to change and be updated. So at the moment I am working on the skin and playing with it somewhat. One of the items clare mentioned was that the full width layout is not very friendly to use, so I have changed this for the moment to a fixed width to see what people think. Please bare in mind that if you are on a screen with a super high resolution, please don't tell me there is too much blank space either side LOL For most people however this may well be easier to look at? I dunno, but please tell me.

If you have ideas about the skin and things that you think may look better, tell me. Things are broken in the skin? Tell me. I wanna know everything you guys see.
