Thanks ladies, I used to think the ice blue eyes were a little creepy, but the black ones are starting to freak me out a bit !
-
As some of you may know, two weeks ago our bitch had a litter of 10, my question is, do their eyes change colour like human babies can ? We have 4 black and white with dark/black eyes, 5 reds and a grey with blue eyes (at the moment lol) will they stay like that ?

So.... only we sad and lonely three have odd dogs ?
-
I've been thinking about this all day, so figured I'd ask, do your huskys do things that make you cross your eyes and mutter `what the ....` because I know mine do. I have two dogs, freyja, our girl, is mostly normal. Strangest thing she does is eat plaster (wall plaster !) And have full on conversations with thin air, complete with pauses as if she's listening to someone (probably the same ghost my kids used to talk to lol). My boy bear however, is odd, not just isn't that cute odd, but O.D.D, he will happily be brushed, but only with a thumb in his mouth. He cannot walk past certain bushes without rubbing himself all over with it, if he finds lavender I have to physically drag him away, he will roll around in the Bush forever, (his record is 12 mins before I was just too embarrassed to stand there anymore, someone asked me if he was having a fit !!!) I'm not listing anymore until some else fesses up, so come on, are you dogs a little eccentric, or just plain odd ?

Ohhh shiny and pretty !

Independence day, Armageddon, day after tomorrow, crank, the Riddick films, You've probably seen all of them, if you don't mind violence, green st with Charlie hunnam and Elijah wood, if you fancy something silly try attack the block, of Shaun of the dead, Hmm, just noticed there's slot of alien/end of the world type of thing, could be worse, the OH is into Godzilla films and crappy B movies (the old, old Godzilla !)

That's because anyone south of the Water or north of the Road is strange lol. ( for our foreign husky lovers, that the Thames and the M25)

If you go to casualty ( accident and emergency) it's a triage system, if your sent to see a consultant by your Doctor ( a specialist) then you can go private and pay, but it's not cheap !. As for Scotland splitting away, perhaps if we sever financial ties there will be some equality for students, at the moment uk students who study in the UK or Scotland pay for uni, Scottish ones don't, even if they come to london it's free, how is that fair ?

Lol freyja suddenly loves being brushed, Bear on the other hand will do a runner if he can, my only two choices with him are to trap him on the balcony and close the door so there's no where to run or, and I am embarrassed on his behalf to say this, if I stick my thumb in his mouth he will sit happily while I brush him, I know he's my first husky and everything, but that can't be normal can it ?

Lol I love sucking eggs ! And thank you for the great suggestions, I have spoken to her tutor myself, she totally agreed with me, promised a referal letter, list of previous employers and clarification on the insurance issue (she didn't have a clue) for all the kids today .... and then didn't! Each time I've made contact with someone I've made it clear that she would love to carry on as a volunteer after the 7 days, I even tried MPS and HARC, both are over 18s, but that's not really a surprise, I think my girl was glad she's only 17 when HARC emailed me and said she was welcome to apply after her birthday, but to be aware that she would need the full rabies course before she could work there !!!

Don't know anything about itp so can't offer any help or advice, but wanted you to know I will say a little prayer for kobi, and you. I just looked it up, there's an itp support site, they have info on itp in dogs, apparently 85 -90% survive, lots more info there, I googled itp in dogs and it came up, good luck !

Poor dogs, but more importantly, poor you !

Probably get nothing more than a slap on the wrist, counselling and two weeks holiday. He should be made to work cleaning up the burnt out building and then building a new one, no pay, no play until it's all fixed!

This Is Awesome Great For Transporting Your Dawgs.

Is it big enough for the kids as well ? -
What is wrong with college's ? Do they go out of their way to make life difficult for kids ? and parents ! My daughter's just started a Level 2 course, last Thursday was induction, and they were told they need to find 7 days of independent work experience before Christmas, but it has to be done outside of school hours. ITS IMPOSSIBLE ! I have called or emailed every vet, pet shop and animal charity within a 4 mile radius ( and alot that are further away) and nowhere can or will help !@$!©€! Mind you, some of the answers have been funny, from not enough staff to too many staff, a reptile shop that told me in all seriousness " but we sell snakes and spiders, she's a girl " (duh) to the ones that told me it's the wrong time of year for work experience, and the ever popular, no under 18s. I hate to think what the phone bills going to be like lol.

I really feel for you ! I've suffered over the years and sleeping on the floor sometimes helps, this will sound strange but most of mine is lower back pain and one thing I do find helps is to lie down with my hips and knees both bent, rest my calves on something, chair/bed/ pile of pillows whatever, and tilt my hips and pelvis so the small of my back is stretched out. It may not help but it might be worth a try, Good luck I hope something works

Had this happen so many times, sometimes I wonder if it's the dogs or the owners that need leashes !

If there's any left I'm interested.

I love our vet, he adores my dogs and is great with them but he freely admits he knows nothing about raw diets. He keeps saying he'll have to do some research, but never does lol
-
Thanks for the offer jase, I think I'd rather avoid nasty forums if I can. as for her raw diet, we are adjusting as we go as each day she seems to want something different, very like a human lol. Mad for sardines at the moment, yuk ! She's gaining weight well, seems to be good condition and strangely developed a love of being brushed. As for more details, she's 14 months, caught on her 2nd season, was 30kg, now 38kg. Generally good health, due on Sept 8th, vet and mid-woof ready just in case. Started on panacur course (worming), don't really know what else to tell you.

GRRRRR Drs can be such butt heads!! there are many ways to deal with them, I start out nice, then turn into a older ( slightly) version of the girl from the exorcist, mostly that works. If nothing else, the head spinning freaks them out lol

After doing some research I'm wondering why I need to switch my pregnant girl to puppy kibble ? As long as she's eating enough surely she can stay on raw ? Anyone tried raw during pregnancy ?
