  4. Make sure you burn till is crackles...the tick not the dog...obviously Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
  5. So I took mishka out for a run when all of a sudden she slowed way down and wouldnt speed up, which is unusual. Upon investigation I noticed her front paw was bleeding and a good chunk of a layer of her back middle pad was hanging (1/2 inch roughly in diameter). I took her straight home and washed it out in the bath tub then used bacitracin (good stuff) and put a clean paper towel and wrap over it...my question is, is there anything more I can do besides change the dressing out? 9. Just got off the phone with some one who gave really specific advice, while on leash in the front yard and a friend or stranger walk right up to skyla and give her a treat and pet her. Pat the chest a little bit and said stranger or friend walks away. Do this often but beware not to practice were a lot of people are, noise must be at a minimum and dog must be in a place that's comfortable ie front yard or inside home. I was also told that if skyla isn't socialized properly she might develop a fear biting problem. And one more thing a friend or stranger who is helping you should be loud vocally bit instead soft spoken and calm. If there's anything I left unclear get back to me I'll be more than happy to get back with you Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
  10. Essentially I've been told it works a lot like the human equivalent to a pat on the back...I'll ask my friends if they got any other tips a d get back with ya Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
  11. I'm sorry to hear that but thank you for the advice Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
  12. Yes, also side works too...was skyla from a shelter or did you raise her from a pup? Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
  13. My friends down in the K9 unit have the same problem with one their dogs, the trick is to socialize them a lot. Also pat skylas chest firmly (to were you hear a thud) its supposed to help build their confidence Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
  14. For coming when called off leash I borrowed what my K-9 unit friends call a 360 ( ridiculously long leash) and practiced calling her with treats it seems to work very well but after some research I've been to afraid to ditch the leash, let y'all know what happens when I'm confident it will work Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
  15. I had this issue as well, a friend of mine (who grew up raising pits) told me to bite her ear. It doesn't take much pressure at all(the amount of pressure you would use to slowly take a bit of cake) she squealed and I haven't had a problem since. In fact when ever she is acting up all I have to do is touch my face to her ear and she gets the point Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
