  1. Tried advantage, good for prevention, not so good when there's an ongoing flea infestation going on in your backyard. I switched to Comfortis (oral tablet) and fixed the yard, never had a problem with fleas since (this was 2 years ago).
  2. So sorry to hear, hope there's no repercussions for you. Seems the cat wasn't chipped, here in Australia it's a legality to microchip your pets. So you might have that to go on if anyone irks up about your dog. The husky prey drive is the one and only thing I can fault the breed on, and it isn't really a fault - it's in their genetic make up. Hope you feel better soon.
  3. Mishka in wheel, Carlton and Logan up front. It was only 13deg C, but the sand gave their muscles a good work out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Amputated [emoji26] poor puppy. Perhaps you could get a second opinion on her arthritis? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hi Emilie and Luna [emoji4] Lois must be a special cat to have a husky as a friend! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. We started training at 10 months old, short runs (up to 2.5km) and I did most of the hard stuff for her. Now she's 17 months old and we are up to running 2 dogs for 4.5km. The racing season hasn't started yet, we're waiting for winter! Hope this helps, feel free to ask more questions as you start Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Mishka presented me with this tonight, not sure what she's done. I felt a lump right where it was a few days ago, thought it was nothing more than repercussions from her desexing a few months ago. Advice would be good until I can take her to the vet tomorrow morning. Poor baby.
  8. I made this for someone on facebook who wanted to see, thought I might share here too. Not much difference in little Mishka! She kept her mask Feel free to post your own sibe's before and afters here too 3wks, 3mths, 10mths
  9. Hey if any of you want a signature/banner made up, leave a comment with the pics with details, examples etc. It can be basically anything you want. Be specific unless you want me to decide for you! I have photoshop and I'm feeling creative
  10. what good is a selfie if your husky isnt in it?
  11. Hey starting from scratch is pretty hard, you can teach them the commands by starting out on the leash beside you, then try out in front of you. Having a friend coax with treats is an idea too. But ideally if you have anyone with already trained huskies nearby, hook your boy up with them and they tend catch on pretty quick while the other dogs already understand what Gee and Haw mean etc. Don't give up!! It's super fun and rewarding
  12. Nope it was another girl named Fee Bee, she belongs to some of Pete and Michelle's friends, also a beginner
  13. Mishka and I have been busy! Since getting up very early on Sundays, we've got a few runs under our belt now. It's getting slightly too warm now so will have to settle for the Canicross belt... looking forward to the next season... and I have my HSC exams on Monday, 21 days until I never have to take a school exam again
  14. Teach me!? Mishka HATES the bath hahaha
  15. Yes!!! Layla is Mishka's age, they had some puppy play together. Willow was running beside us to keep Mishka pulling, not sure if Hart was there. Small world Should come over next season if you've been training, we can all go to Dinner Plain together!
  16. Hahah yes, quite literally for me!! That's awesome, taking some initiative and helping others get involved. Have you considered entering a race?
  17. A bit of both.... sometimes I can understand her ear-piercing tantrums, not wanting to get in the bath or something. Other times I think her head's in the clouds, or she found some cat-nip for dogs... climbing the attic ladder only to get stuck and scared up there. Don't you ever learn my child?
  18. Fair enough, and totally! It's so exciting and rewarding.
  19. Early Sunday morning, Mishka and I went for our first ever mush up. It was only 2k long but we're going to train over the Summer for next year's season. ArcticPower owners Michelle and Pete are the ones who got us started, and were impressed with little Mish's efforts. We're hooked now ! When did you start dogsledding?
  20. Oh thanks guys!! I haven't been on for ages. It was my 18th, now I have to vote haha
  21. Wait what if I take a pic of Mishka next to the dingoes hahaha
  22. Is there a place on this forum that this is permitted?
  23. Greetings, As the title suggests, our friends over in Queensland are in a bit of a pickle. The furry residents at Durong Dingo Sanctuary are at risk of being removed by the Government, or worse, put down. The harsh laws to own and care for dingoes in QLD were overcome by my hard working friend, Simon Stretton. He has done so much for them on his own, but now he needs our help. He doesn't know I've launched this yet, and hopefully I can surprise him with some much needed $$ to continue his passionate work. link removed 5.04 - Advertising of events to raise money for non husky owners events is strictly forbidden. Ps bonus cute dingo pup with her dad, residents of the sanctuary
  24. Meet Kaiser! (formerly known as Dude). He is 1y/o and in need of rehoming. I'll be picking him up soon, we're pretty excited. Now Mishka will have someone her age to play with Hopefully she'll give poor old Kaz' a rest.
