  1. Yes, that is what I understand. Fortunately, I have time and am willing to make relationships.
  2. I am happy to receive the information in a private message. My apologies I do not mean to violate the rules of the discussion board. Just looking to take advantage of experience of the members.
  3. Good morning, I am looking for recommendations for breeders for our next puppy, which looking to bring into our home in about 2 years (I like to think ahead). Here is what we are looking for in a female puppy (slight preference for grey color): 1. A sound healthy puppy with good prospects to be a well socialized family member and "working dog". 2. AKC Full Registration (no co-ownership) 3. A show prospect puppy (I would the possibility to explore showing, but am certainly offering lifetime commitment to the pup) 4. Pups bred for working drive (to be used for obedience, agility, nose work or whatever the dog takes to). Location/distance is not an issue. I will be happy to fly out to the pup and drive back or fly it home in arms create good initial experience for the pup and will take to the first two weeks off to bond with the pup and socialize. I am very active with my dogs as you can see from the Facebook page for my current pup www.facebook.com/lokisibe Thank in advance for any advice and recommendations Jason
  4. at 12 weeks mine was 15lbs. Www.puppychart.com will predict his weight. Not sure if its accurate.
  5. Hello, I started socializing Loki at my wife's barn so I can take him to Horse Shows when she competes. I've taken him about 4 times and he hasn't barked yet. Do you think that is enough?
  6. I think he can be left alone in the house once your old mature enough if they have a companion little spur each other to trouble. That is a lot of if's, however we have a nine-year-old female husky we leave alone in the house with the four-year-old female Westie. We also have a four-month-old Husky puppy. We leave him in the playpen currently, when he gets older somewhere between 1.5 and two years old, we will consider leaving them out by himself. we fed him in the playpen so he's happy to go there. He can stand over the edge and put his paws on the kitchen table, but he's just happy to be there and never try to get out. however we're now transitioning to a crate.
  7. I'm a big fan of Dr. Yin en I was sorry to hear about her passing. I think these videos and techniques are great. However the address a different problem. The video I shared is about teaching puppies manners before their are issues. The videos you shared is about dealing with dog issues after the fact. Both topics are good info for any dog owner and great information thanks for sharing.
  8. Here is a video that shows a technique for teaching food manners: http://www.dogstardaily.com/blogs/chirag-patel/teaching-food-manners What do you think of this approach? I've done something similar and its worked well for me. Thoughts?
  9. Here is good video that offers one approach to teaching food manners: http://www.dogstardaily.com/blogs/chirag-patel/teaching-food-manners I like this approach and have used something similar with my pup. What do you guys think?
  10. It's very easy to get "wrapped around the axle" in email and forums. I think everyone on both sides was trying to help. Everyone just got focused on growling vs. not growling as was, "talking at each other, rather than to one another". I think everyone would agree there should be an environment where the pup feels comfortable and does not need to growl, especially at its owner over resources such as food, toys, water, and places in the house. Likewise I think everyone would agree that they'd want their pup to be able to communicate when it is in fear or feels threatened. Simply put, it's okay to growl if necessary, but not okay to growl/show aggression often over things that pups shouldn't growl at. I believe no one wants a dog that bites right away for no "appropriate reason". This is a great forum and everyone seems to want to help everyone out. It was just a case of mis-communication. I am glad it was resolved so well. Jason
  11. Here is an example: http://www.custom-pet-sculpture.com/custom-pet-urns.html
  12. I saw site the other day that will create a handcarved statue of your dog with a place to put the ashes. Search Google for custom dog sculptures from picture and I'm sure will come right up.
  13. Is the pup truly home by himself does have another dog companion? Is there possibility of leaving them in the yard for small while? How's the crates been torn apart as a been chewed through the wire crates of just been broken you can support them better hardware. They also make industrial create T-5 if you can find them.
  14. I am building a puppy playscape as we speak: You said: One goal you can make is to take your puppy out to meet 50 new people every single week. Lots of treats, it doesn't have to be for long, even just a short hi/bye will count. You can also build a small puppy stimulation area. Lots of strange surfaces, stuff to chew, etc.
