  1. most of the time i think ignoring them is deffo the best way to go about it. interacting with them only feeds their stupidity lol. my conclusion to the whole scenario..... some people are just plain crazy!
  2. and now you mention it game of thrones may have played a part lol. luna does have a look of Ghost, jon snows direwolf hahaha
  3. oh goodness me. what an ordeal you have had. i just dont understand the whole fear dangerous dog malarky. any dog can be dangerous i firmly believe it is the humans and not the breed. anyway huskys are known for being friendly and good with children. i think people just like the drama to be honest !
  4. oh wow a lecture for having your dog ON a lead??? now that is strange i hope i dont ever come across that one!
  5. well thank goodness it isnt just my dog. she doesnt even look like a wolf since she is all white. im starting to think this lady may have needed some help regarding her mental health. i hope i dont run into her again, not sure i want to have to experience anymore of her crazy!!
  6. hi everyone. ive got a feeling this is going to be more of a rant than a question. has your husky ever been mistaken for a wolf?? i only ask as tonight on a walk with luna i had a bit of a run in with a middle aged lady and her shitzu. she told me i should be careful walking that thing in public and if i pass a police officer they will confiscate my wolf!!!! i must admit i did laugh at first and told her luna was a husky but the crazy lady was having non of it. she even gave me a huge lecture on how owning a wild animal was illegal and that my wolf was going rip off someones face. In the end i walked away stunned, its not often im lost for words but this had me dumbfounded. the more i think about it the more bizarre it becomes! so it got me wondering if anyone else had ever experienced such ludacris.???
  7. Oh I feel awful now I gave Luna some chicken wings direct from the butcher yesterday no freezing involved
  8. Thanks for the reply.... So even chicken wings need to be frozen two weeks before feeding??? Or have I picked that up completely wrong? Xxx
  9. Hi all. Luna is now fully onto a raw diet she is eating 500g of nutriment per day an enhanced raw food which is bought frozen and thawed at home. I would like to supplement this with various other meats and bones ect.. While she is still quite thin. I have access to several butcher shops basically I'm wondering what on earth do I ask for.... Offcuts, meaty bones is there anything particular. From what I understand chicken wings seem to be a good start and I should stay away from large weight bearing bones as these pose a risk of dental problems. I do apologise if I have this all wrong I'm still trying to get my head around the basics of raw feeding which is why I have gone down the route of buying it pre packaged for now. I can't help but feel the Internet is a minefield full of conflicting information on the subject. I'm hoping the good people of the husky owners forum will steer me in the right direction Thanks in advance for any replies xx
  10. Hi everyone just wondering if any of you can remember the height and weight of your dogs at Luna's age. She is almost 6 month and measures 17 inches at the withers and is 15kg/30lb. I can't help but feel she looks tiny compared to others around the same age. She was fed on a dry food called Canagan and has recently been moved onto a raw diet. Should I expect more growth now she is eating raw? She lookes very leggy and thin at present I'm hoping she will fill out a bit soon. here are a couple of pictures taken recently of Luna. Thanks guys x
  11. Yes your probably right. Although I can be a bit of a paniker at times I don't know why. while we have had other dogs she is our first husky I don't know why but I feel like she is fragile haha hubby says I treat her as though she is made of gold. Small things I would have brushed off if it where the other dogs are suddenly really serious when it's luna. I think I'm becoming slightly obsessed with my husky lol
  12. Thanks for the reply she is limping but is putting weight on it the limp is very slight more like a hobble to be honest. I do think it's better than yesterday and certainly better than when it first happened. Might it be a good idea not to walk her today to try and rest it ?
  13. Hi everyone I'm after some advice/opinions. So yesterday after spending a beautiful day out in the garden with the family Luna suffered a bang to the leg. We keep a baby gate on the decking to restrict the area our dogs can be in when we aren't out with them. Luna came bounding up the decking stairs and ran straight into the OPEN baby gate. She instantly whined and howled for around 30 to 45 seconds. My husband picked her up and calmed her down and gave her treats which she was happy to eat. Straight after she began to limp. Later on in the night the limp improved but still not walking perfectly. This morning the slight limp is still there no swelling at all and she is fine with me touching the leg. We have had a leg break in the past from our miniature jack Russell and it was nothing like this. His leg was swollen massively and he wouldn't even attempt to put it down. Since Luna is putting weight on the leg and no swelling in guessing this isn't a break. Maybe a bruise since it was a bang ( I don't know if dogs even get bruises) hubby seems to think it will right it's self in a couple of days what do you think? I do have a tendency to panic and overthink things so any advice or oppinions would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to rush off to the vet for everything ( which I kinda do to be honest) and get the usual come back in a couple of days if no improvement. Thanks in advance guys xxxx
