It's getting better! Still accidents here and there but he sleeps in his crate with the door wide open! He willingly walks in now! Such progress! AGH!

Hahah we are learning! Today he has finally settled down and walked into his crate willingly! We started feeding him in his crate today and we put a blanket over a majority of it so it feels more "den" like... he's loving it! This is one interesting breed!

Here are some random pictures of my little man from today! I feel like a new mom taking a bunch of obnoxious pictures of her newborn! hahah... but I am so so so happy my hubby and I chose to add a Husky to the family! He is such an awesome pup! And crate training (aside from some unnecessary howling/crying) went well today! As did house training!

Does anyone have experience with this? We are trying to crate train him so he knows not to pee in the house and so he can have his own little "den" and feel safe. When he first gets in he cries like he's being murdered and I feel AWFUL. I know he doesn't have to pee because sometimes he will go in after he has gone to the bathroom. Do I just sit by his kennel and calm him down to help make him more comfortable? I know definitely not to let him out because he cries because then he learns that's how he can get out. Right?

Hello everyone! My Husband Justin and I (Nicole) are new puppy owners as well as new to this site! Dexter is 8 weeks old and we are from CT! We are enjoying him a lot so far, although he is a bit stubborn lol but I hear that's a common trait amongst Huskies! I'm looking forward to meeting people on this site an sharing experiences and also reading up on tips so we can properly house/crate train him! He goes pee outside with few accidents inside but he REFUSES to poop outdoors! It's nice to be a part of such an active site!
