  1. Ouch. . . bet your mum wasn't pleased Did you get in trouble for it ?
  2. There's a bit of Wolf in ALL dogs, They are descended from the same root stock a couple of hundred thousand years ago. Huskies simply RESEMBLE wolves more than any other dog.
  3. Perhaps in the wild with the Chukchi tribes when they are let free to roam in the summer as a large (ish) pack they may do this.

  5. LOL I think you've answered your own question. Pop down to Halfords or even the local poundstore or "borrow" one from your cars fusebox, then put it back after the charging.
  6. Also. . . You only need one "Brownout" while your dogs out there and you'll be searching for them for hours.

  13. Yes, it sounds like she is "just" playing. However if she was taken as a puppy from her litter mates before she was around 6 weeks old she may not have learned proper "bite inhibition" This is when she plays with her litter mates and learns to bite others without doing harm. If she is biting too hard for you, then when she does it pull your hand / arm away with a loud "Ow / Ouch !!!" She'll quickly learn not to bite so hard. As the previous owners son played like that, it's why she wants to play with you. She's obviously bonding with you, more than the rest of the family. However given time she will get stronger bonds with the rest. Rescue Huskies do tend to bond with one person right off the bat in a new home. and as you're the one who does most of the walking and playing etc it's not surprising that she has fixed on you. Don't mistake bonding for loyalty though. If a stranger came up to her clipped on a lead she would happily walk away with them and barely look back. I have a White German Shepherd, and she is Loyal, she would fight to get back to me if she was taken away. It's a difference between the breeds. Huskies LOVE to be with Humans, but they are not fussy which humans. Echo My Shepherd loves to be with me, but hates strangers

  20. Welcome to the pack Well done for rescuing all those fufriends. And what mixed bag you have too . You're quite right about Huskies being different. No matter how much research and preparation you do they always do something that makes you go. . . Huh, eh?, what did that dog just do ?????? Whenever anyone asks about what it's like to own a Husky, we Husky owners do tend to stress the negative things. . . why? Because there are so many in rescue homes, with little hope of finding a forever home. Huskies have become the latest FAD dog to have. With most people getting them having done little to no research beforehand.and so 6 months down the line, abandoned or sold on. So we're not saying to them don't get a Husky, but PLEASE be aware that this can be a difficult breed, especially the first few years. and YOU have to change your life to fit around this dog. We're not being negative, just trying to get it into prospective owners heads that these are not a dog to be taken on lightly. You'll probably have questions because Kira is behaving in ways that none of your previous dogs have. and we'll turn around and say.. . . "Yup, she's just being a Husky
