    Tie Outs

Something else to consider. An average tie out line is about 3 metres (9-10 feet) however if you have a longer line than that, they can run and get up to a good speed before reaching the end. With this in mind, if you plan on having a longer line then put them on a harness rather than attaching to the collar. To save any injury to the neck. Also the longer the line the more chance it has of getting wrapped up with and tangled with other objects in the garden.
  4. O.K. just thought I'd ask as we still have the designs for the previous years. Wouldn't take much modifying to get them ready.

    Tie Outs

Traditional ties outs depend on the dog. Some dogs respect that they are tied to a rlatively solid object and stay put to the extent of the line. Others wil yank and pull at the tie out until it comes out. You can get metal cable, tie lines, then as you say attach them to a tree or perhaps the tow hook of your car. Or some other immovable object in the garden.
  7. It looks like The photgrapher had the flash on too high a setting, slightly over exposing them giving them an unnatural lighting with the natural lit building behind. Also he should have used a daylight filter on the flash to try to match the daylight colour rather than the harsh straight flash colour. He would have been better off using a reflector to bounce a more natural light than the flash just my tuppence ha'pennies worth
  8. YAY !!! Just had my holiday date confirmed. October camp here we come

Anything when used as a weapon, regardless of it's actual intended use, is regarded by the police as assault. So you have to be careful. However they should take into account the circumstances in which it was used. 3 men against one woman, they might turn a blind eye unless one of the people sustains a serious injury. Also if the dogs protect the owner, If the men claim that she urged the dogs to defend her, they could be deemed as being used as a dangerous weapon and taken away and destroyed. You are allowed to defend yourself. however it is the degree of force used in defending yourself that is in question. Our society is crazy in that the victim can end up a criminal by defending themselves.
  10. Hopefully once she settles in, she'll stop stressing and realise that her new forever home is a good place to be.
  11. How's Nikko doing ??
  12. Also it could simply be that you're feeding him too much. When he "dries up" and you reintroduce the kibble (what brand is he on ?) give him half of what you used to give him then, slowly add a little more, until the stools start to look soft then back it up a bit. Too much food and the food idn't processed before you're feeding him again and so the body gets rid of the undigested food quickly ie. the runs
  13. Welcome to the forum. I would stop the dry food and just put Rebel on the Chicken and rice. Then when he is getting more solid slowly reintroduce the dry food. Also Raw chicken wings (yes bones and all) work wonders for a runny bum. Yes they can get Lungworms from eating slugs. as they carry the parasite. (however it doesn't happen everytime) Take him to your vets and they will check him out. Make sure he gets plenty of water, his main problem at the moment will be dehydration (due to the runs).
  14. When we first rescued Darwin his tail had already been stripped down to a thin "rats tail" This was due to stress of being cooped up in a flat for up to 8-10 hours per day while his previous owners were at work. See this thread Is Ziva stressed or upset about anything. does it look like a bite, sometimes they lick so hard at a bite or wound that they can strip the fur off.
  15. Daughtry was eager to be zooming around the garden by day 2. We had to keep her on a leash in the house to stop her from running around like a crazy thing.
  16. Are you guys having Tshirts this year ??
  17. We did a bit of both. . She's still got a well defined waist. So we're happy
  18. Darn it can't see video at work. . .
  19. Daughtry was spayed last October. She's got a bit chunkier but couldn't tell you how much she put on.
