I'm looking at taking early retirement in about 9 years (when I'm 60) That;s my goal. Then kick back, relax and take up hobbies that I had to drop because of work and family.

Try to make him sit before greeting people. once learned it makes them pause before greeting and helps diffuse the jumpiness. Also try not to use the crate as a time out place. We always try to encourage crates as a safe warm go to sleep safe place to be. Rather than a place of punishment.

If I see someone with a Husky, I'll go over and chat to them even If I don't have mine with me at the time. I'll give them a H-O biz card. I've been known to slam the brakes on, pull the car over, and go running back up the street waving like a lunatic. Do owners of other breeds have the same insane need to confront complete strangers and chat to them simply because they own the same breed of dog ??

Since we got our Huskies we've had to make some big changes to the house to keep them and our posessions safe. What have you changed in your house to suit you furkids ?? 1. Dogflap in backdoor. 2. completely fenced the back garden and the front of house so they can go in and out without escaping. 3. Stairgates to stop them going in the kitchen (open plan no door) and upstairs 4. Child locks on all kitchen cupboards and drawers.in case they jump the stairgates 5. Never open any windows that face out front (even bedroom windows)
