  6. Oh that poor child. You've all seen the pics of my granddaughter With my 3 dogs and how well they get on with her And how gentle they are with her. But we never leave her alone for for a moment with the dogs. They are always supervised. R.I.P. little one.
  7. I agree that all dogs can be trained. However not all dogs even once trained can be 100% trusted. My GSD I can trust. My Husky with exactly the same training I cannot. and I will NOT put my husky at risk to try to prove a point or to score a number on a training reliability chart.
  8. Thanks Lani, Also excellent.
  9. Thanks Mick that is Excellent.
  10. A wise man once said. . . . "Stupid is as Stupid does" You met one today.
  11. HI, this is always a highly controversial topic. New owners want to let their puppy off lead. It's understandable. and up to about 8 to 10 months a puppy will recall when called or if you change direction they will scamper to catch you up, because YOU are their world, and they want to be with you. However. . . between 8 to 10 months the prey drive starts to kick in. This means they start to get interested in everything else in the world. Especially anything that moves. They will want to chase it. Leaves blowing in the wind, plastic bags, bits of paper, other dogs and people. They also get the famous Husky selective hearing, in other words they WILL ignore you calling them back. Also they can run faster than you. If you are not in a fully secure area then they will be able to get away from you. You chasing them will be a game for them. Until they get to a main road and . . . . you can imagine the rest. Please, please do not let your Husky off lead unless you are in a fully secure area. Please don't have to learn the hard way.

  20. There's no real way of knowing. When we rescued Darwin we had 3 months of fun and friendship before Echo Started to 'have a go' at Darwin. We then had 12 months of fights and trouble before they settled down. You simply have to take the chance
