  5. If they are a pup at least a year old then their pads may well still be quite soft. Mushers secret will help toughen them up. However stopping them from licking it off before it gets to work. . . difficult. (good for toughening up the pads of your fingers when first learning to play the guitar too)
  6. I have the walkydog. Darwin loves a good run. He's had me upto 25mph !!! Once he hits a good straight and gets his stride on. . . . Awesome

  15. When we rescued Darwin he was a year old and had been living in a flat in London. While his owners did thier best the poor pup was just getting stressed at being cooped up all day on his own. As a result of the stress he had stripped away most of the fur on his tail, it was so sad to know that Huskies have a glorious bushy tail and darwin had this thin ratty thing. Within a year it was back to where it should be. It's most likely as Sid suggests just a Hot spot and Kodi has stripped it away because it's sore or irritable. However it could be a stress reaction like Darwin.
  16. As Elyse says in the wild, wolves and wild dogs will grab the back of the neck to force them down for submission. When Echo and darwin have fought in the past darwin will try to do just that. So when a dog that isn't used to being handled at the back of the neck they will sometimes suspect that they are be forced into submission and retaliate. you have to desensitize the area with the techniques Elyse suggested.
  17. Look it's simple. Put all your good furniture and belongings in storage. foster / adopt / rescue Ranger. When he's a couple of years old and out of the Eat / Kill / destroy / hump everything phase you can get all your stuff back and resume normal life.
