    Idiots!!!!!

It's unfortunate that some people in todays society see pets not as treasured members of the family but as disposable assets. Thrown out when they are no longer cute. or when they become a barrier to things like going on holiday etc. So sad.
  4. Police leads are great. Clip one end to the collar and one end to the harness. that way you control them whichever way you want. Also if they manage to get out of the harness.. . . Oh, yeah they do. Like Houdini out of a straightjacket. The are still clipped on the collar and safe.
  5. That is Awesome !!! Occasionally Nature takes a bit of the land back
  6. Went out to do some desperately needed shopping today. Left Malaki with Echo, Darwin and Daughtry. First time we've gone out since we got him without someone being at home. THOUGHT. . . . we'd secured the house. Nope, Kelly had left her bedroom window open about 2 inches. Malaki discovered this. And was seen jumping out of the bedroom window onto the top of the bay window of the living room, off that into the front garden then off down the road. He was collared by someone, handed to a local dogs for the deaf centre who then handed him to the dog warden. We were gone a total of 2.1/2 hours. The dog warden had him for . . .probably about an hour tops. Charged us £83. He didn't hurt himself getting out, all is well (except my bank balance !!!)
  7. Erm. . . I think that's supposed to be 'cockney'
  8. sometimes dogs yawn as a stress reaction.
  9. Welcome to the world of owning Huskies. You are now part of an elite group of people who make up approximately 0.00000000000000001% of the worlds population who Actually know something intelligent about Huskies. The other 99.99999999999999% make sh. . . stuff up as they go along. They probably tell their kids that there are monsters under the bed, in the closet and that there is a dinosaur in the basement everytime the boiler fires up. Oh, yeah. . . and if they ever let their kids stroke your dog and they get licked. Whisper quietly to the mum. . . . "She's not licking. . . she's TASTING".
  10. LOL. . . Oh, dear. erm. . . she's a puppy. This is the way it works. You spend your money. and until around the age of 2 They destroy the things you spend your money on. Dog beds, Shoes, underwear, sofas, walls, doors, and. . . . especially indestructable toys. You can get no chew sprays at your local pet store. However I've yet to find one that works.
  11. Something thing to keep in mind. Nothing Husky is ever easy Nothing Husky is ever quick. Time and patience and the willingness to change YOUR life to fit the Husky in is what it takes.
  12. Wow sorry to hear about thedevastation. Hope it doesn't affect you too much (other than the smoke) Yeah, bread products of any type go through all of mine in double time and come out in VERY liquid form. Good luck
  13. WOW, Those local Husky owners are almost guaranteed not to be members on here. While there are a few members who have used prong collars the vast majority are definately against the use of these control collars also the same for ecollars. A Walk Your Dog With Love harness, they appear flimsy however they really help controlling your dogs pulling. However this is only a tool. Ideally along with the WYDWL harness you should be training your dog to walk nicely. There are a few different methods but they are repetetive when the dog pulls either make them sit and wait then continue. When they pull / sit again. Until they get fed up of stop start and get the idea. or A 15ft training lead. Let them have full rein. When they get ahead and are not paying attention turn around and walk in the opposite direction. The lead goes tight they look for you see you are walking away and follow you. when they go ahead, turn and go the other way. Eventually they will get the idea that they have to watch you in case you turn around. When they are watching you they are not pulling. the first few times you do this you don't get more than a few hundred yards in say an hour but you'll see the diffrernce. If you can do this a couple of times a week within a few weeks you'll notice the difference. I have 4 dogs 1 in training a Malamute.(just rehomed him) 2 Huskies and a White german shepherd. I can walk the 2 huskies and White GSD in one hand with no pulling. Trained using the 2nd method above. Good luck.
  14. Henry A bit expensive. But. . . . Will last forever.
  15. Bury a few chicken wings under that spot and 'D' will dig it for you.
