  1. You'll probably need to start by using a training tool such as a Halti head harness / Canny collar or Walk your dog with love harness. these help to make your dog not pull so much. The way they work is when the dog pulls the tool pulls them to one side diverting their energy away from straight pulling. Most dogs do not like the Halti or Canny collar however they soon adjust. You'll soon find that they stop pulling so much and begin walking better. You now need to begin some one to one loose lead training with each dog. after a few MONTHS you will notice that they walk more calmly all the time. This is when you can start phasing out the Halti or canny collar and switch to their normal collar. gradually you'll find that they only pull hard to try and chase cats or squirrels but walk nicely otherwise. This is how we trained ours. However it took a YEAR to get all three walking nicely. We can now walk all three in one hand. the rule with huskies is : There is no quick solution to anything. they are very intelligent BUT hard to train out of their natural instincts such as pulling and their prey drive. However with TIME and PATIENCE it can be achieved.

If she ends up in court because of her spending then she may be forced to take professional advice. and although I'm sure it will be exactly the same advice you have given her she may well take it seriously then. However because you are family she chooses to ignore your advice, superb as it is. Because . . .well. . .your just "blowing things out of proportion" Sigh. . . Good luck.

  14. Yes the pulling the back lags works, however you need two people co-ordinated to pull both dogs away at the same time. Otherwise the dog not being pulled simply re-attacks the one now restrained.

    Good job, keep going.
  17. We don't have an enclosed garden so our guys have to be taken out to do their "bizzniss" So they get an average of 5 half hour walks per day.
  18. Echo and Darwin "get it on" occasionally. Most wounds are not serious, however cuts on the head do tend to bleed quite vociferously. then turn out to be a pinprick. Don't bandage them they'll only pull them off to lick at the wound. As long as it's not still bleeding then, as Zani says bathe twice per day with salt water. Keep an eye out for weeping. If they are still licking at it and limping for more than a couple of days then they may have an infection. Otherwise They'll heal up just fine. Even the best behaved and dogs that are the absolute best buddies will scrap occasionally. Don't worry.
  19. Darwin and Daughtry both will perk up and want to chase anything Cats / dogs / squirrels / birds / crisp packets / leaves blowing in the wind. . . .
