    Thanks for sharing.
  2. Feeding them separately, Good. Also make sure they are separated when you are eating. So they don't get jealous over your food, whether you feed tidbits off your plate or not, doesn't matter food is present and can be a cause for a fight breaking out if one thinks the other is getting too close to your food. As for the growling, maybe have a squirty bottle (sort of thing you spray indoor plants with) of water at hand when he growls, squirt. This might be off putting enough to reduce the growling.
  3. To the best Husky forum in the WORLD. Sorry to hear about Taz. He was such a handsome boy. Glad you've decided to stop "lurking". Join in, don't be shy.
  4. to the BEST Husky forum in the WORLD. Read through a bunch of posts to get a feel for the place. Then dive in and, give us your 5 cents worth. Don't be shy.
  5. LOL in response to which of the above posts ????

  7. When I got my HTC Desire HD. First thing. Find out which version of Android it's ACTUALLY running. Install Kindle. Drag all my books into a kindle directory. Breathe a deep sigh of relief, because now I'm good for reading until I die. Get Gmail installed. Try to uninstall most of the preinstalled crap that comes with the phone. go online on my PC and download about 10gig of apps. 99.9% of which I'll never install.
  8. and. . . . the Australians on the forum are gonna be shocked at THAT thought.
  9. No, No, No, as Suzanne says, it's a debate. As with most things Husky, there is more than one way to tackle a problem. I just hope that somewhere in all the "discussions" there is something you can use to help stop the fighting.
  10. Sorry Bec, I wasn't insinuating that you don't have any real experience with dogs. We all know that you do. Just that in ALL your videos and posts YOUR dogs are very well trained and extremely well behaved. Just that you may not have been in this situation having to actually deal with this as it happens.
  11. When you contradict yourself, it doesn't help. While you have given much valuable advice to members in the past. In this case I'm going to have to disagree with you.
  12. They are just "helping" you with the garden. You WILL eventually need a hole there at some point.
  13. My guys NEVER fight when we are not there. So they are NOT fighting over food or toys. (resource guarding) It doesn't happen at meal times or when we are eating. It doesn't happen when we are playing with them with or without toys or when they are playing with toys. They all apparently calm, then Echo will simply "launch" across the room into Darwin. I can only speak from experience. My responses are based on this experience and not on ideas or theories.
  14. LOL yeah, when my two started kicking off (and after getting bit myself) we tried lots of techniques. Throwing / squirting water. . . nope no effect. Air horn. . haven't tried it, but it belongs to the sudden shock / disrupting the behaviour idea. Pulling apart with back legs, yep as long as there are two people and you have to try to get in position AND be able to grab hold of two animals that are thrashing around. NEVER grab a dog by the collar. They are angry and in the middle of a fight they assume it's another attack coming from behind they snap turn their head and bite YOU before they realise it IS you. Our technique of leaving the room has worked 99% of the time.
  15. Sometimes squirting or throwing cold water on them works. (sometimes)
  16. As long as Storm isn't involved, then grab Storm and leave the room.
  17. This works but ONLY if there are two humans and two dogs. They must be pulled apart at the same time. If there is just One Human pulling one dog away, the second dog is now free to continue attacking the dog you're pulling away.
  18. Echo and Darwin fight. Well. . . Echo launches into Darwin and he defends himself. Try this technique. (as with almost all husky advice at first it seems ass backwards.) When they kick off. . . ALL PEOPLE MUST LEAVE THE ROOM, IMMEDIATELY. (and shut the door) One of them feels the need to PROTECT YOU. So by staying there, you prolong the conflict. Do not try to split them up as you have found, YOU get bit. (Been there, done that, got the Tshirt and the tetanus jab) When you leave the room you take away the reason for the fight and you'll find it goes quiet after about another 30 seconds. Wait another 30 seconds and go back in. you'll probably find they have either split up completely and are now busy licking each other to say sorry. or. . . One is still stood over the other, however you should be able to VERBALLY tell them to MOVE and BACK OFF to get them apart. This works for us.
  19. We used Halti's on our 3 (very similar in fit and operation to the canny.) It took a year with them on the Halti in conjunction with one on one loose lead training. However after a year I was able to have them all back on just a normal half check collar, and. . . . I can walk ALL 3 with one hand. Canny's and Halti's slip over the muzzle and clip around the back of the head, 10 seconds to put on and take off. MOST dogs do not like the Canny or Halti at first they try to throw jumping and twisting fits trying to get out/away from it. Please persevere, they get used to it and from then on you get a much less draggy / pully walk. With the Canny or Halti you can at least walk your pooch without getting a dislocated shoulder. They are not a permanent solution to pulling, and as said before they help train the dog to a less draggy style of walking. However they also need to be trained with one on one loose lead training so that you can change over to a normal collar later.
