  1. 11.You DO NOT need good weather to have a great time, so long as you have good companionship. (and that we had by the bucketloads )

  4. Erm. . . the last time I tried this I nearly drowned as beer went down my throat and up my nose, then abruptly tried to reverse the flow through the same holes and at the same time my body said "BREATH DAMMIT". So I might give this a miss.

  7. OK then next months will be Husky-Owners Rescue of the Month. (then we'll have all the others. . . . "Oh, but I got mine from a "reputable" breeder. . . Can I enter mine. . .sigh . .") However this should show what a fantastic job our members have done rehoming and rescuing Huskies over the years.
  8. If they keep stresing that people SHOULD NOT use this technique at home. . . . then WHY bother to show it in the first place. Why bother showing something that they are promoting as an effective and worthwhile training tool, then tell you not to use it. . . and THEN to get over 4000 complaints that the technique is seriously flawed. . . just dumb, really.

    Doh!

Great response. However as usual they will simply assume. . . that you are elitist and don't want anyone else to have such a beautiful dog. that you are over dramatising the entire issue, and they can't possibly be that bad. and go out and get their precious princess a Husky because she . . . simply MUST have one. Then she will treat it like the best thing since sliced bread, or the latest new phone until the glamour wears off and then they will have to deal with reality and the poor dog will end up being rehomed. It is a living being that (as you rightly said) will be their responsibility for the next 14-16 years. It is NOT a gadget or trinket to be discarded simply because it no longer fits with your wardrobe or lifestyle. Please post my reply to them.
  12. If you do not intend to breed then you don't need papers. He's a pet. Love him and be the best owner you can be. If your dog is a heinz 57 varieties breed of mongrel or a pure siberian Husky doesn't matter. Give him the best life you can. Papers or no papers that doesn't change. Stop worrying, focus on the important stuff.

Well done, I just went through 6000 and didn't even notice. . . LOL
  14. My eldest son has been playing the Grand Theft Auto games (and lots of other of that type of game) for a looooong time now. While he is now an adult he's been playing them since his middle teens. We live on one of the largest housing estates in Europe, and as such has a "bad" reputation for teenage crime etc. Despite this, and playing the games a lot he has never been tempted to hotwire and steal a car, tool up with Uzi's and go out shooting and raping, innocent people and prostitutes, or gunning down druglords and taking over their criminal empires. Why ??? Because most kids understand the difference between video and reality. Personally I don't like those types of games (Don't get me wrong I love a good FPS) but I think any kid who gets sucked into a life of crime and violence soley on the influence of video games has to be very suggestible and will probably have underlying mental problems. If your kid is a normal healthy, youngster, I wouldn't worry too much. However I would still monitor the type of games he's playing as they tend to have a LOT of swearing and bad language and THIS they can and probably WILL pick up on and repeat in the playground and around their mates.
  15. Well done buddy, glad to see things going well for a change. Remember you're there to work not spend all day getting husky kisses n cuddles.
