However something to bear in mind that you shouldn't be "Working" your pup until they are at least 12 months old. This is to stop damage to joints and ligaments. The damage doesn't becone apparent until they are older. and they start getting hip and joint problems earlier than they should.

Yes, quite normal behaviour. It's NOT a sexual act, it's about dominance. By mounting another dog (male or female) they are saying I can have you, so you are below me in the pack. Both sexes will mount both sexes, to prove dominance. It only becomes sexual when a male mounts a female in heat.
