Don't worry Huskies are VERY intelligent. (one of mine taught himself to open LOCKED windows !!!) They love mental stimulation as much as physical exercise. Train one trick, when they start getting bored, or appear unresponsive,move onto something else. Also, especially Sit, Lay down and recall needs to be trained and practiced out on walks too. They can be invaluable if they get off lead. If they only do these in the home they may not respond to them as well out doors. Just be aware that no matter how well or often they do something, If they don't want to do it they won't.

Hi, Welcome to the Forum. We live in Oxford. . . just down the road. We occasionally have meets, where we get our huskies together for a walk. When Ko is old enough e.g. had all his shots you'd be most welcome to join in. Also we already have 3 or 4 active members from swindon, perhaps you could get together with them too. As Linda said any help with your pup don't hesitate to ask. We love to help.

This is awful. You are paying these people a lot of money to look after your Husky during her quarantine. at the very least you should get a full refund, and they should cover the cost of any vets bills incurred because of this injury.

We took Our 3 round to my ex's the other day. She opened the back door to let them into the back garden. 6ft fences all round. Darwin shot out into the garden, turned around to usher the other two out, Looked back into the garden to only see Darwins back legs disappearing over the fence. opened the back gate and shouted to him, came back all sheepish. busted. wasn't chasing anything, just decided to bugger off for a solo. . .

When Kells was at school, she got written death threats from some Girls not because of anything she did but simply because she had a cousin in the same school they did have a problem with. We took it to the school, they got the teachers to independently identify the handwriting which then tied up with the kids that Kells identified. Guess what happened. Kells got sent home from school for a week, bullies. . . nothing nada zip.

I think these statistics are based on attacks per capita. So if there are 2 huskies in an area and one bites then that is a 50% occurrence If in the same area there are 1000 pitbulls and there are 10 bites then that is a 1% occurrence. More bites, but lesser percentage. and so the Husky gets on the list.
