Hi, we simply tie the handles of our leads together. If they are being walked singly they are on their normal half check collar. However when walking all three of ours together they go on Halti's other wise they become uncontrollable pulling in different directions and as you say the slightest distraction and you get pulled left right and centre. The control headcollars are Just one method of controlling multiple dogs at the same time. Here's a Pic of Kelly with all three.

I know it's distressing. We had something similar with Darwin. We Rehomed him and he was fantastic for the first few weeks. Then like yours he did his utmost to escape. Even to the extent of learning how to unlock the windows. !!! I think what happens is. . . For the first few weeks they think they are on holiday. . . . yay. . . . But then they realise. . .erm no this may be permanent . . uh, oh. . . I gotta go find my old humans. . . They try every which way to escape and piss you off so you will take them back to thier original owner. Be patient they will calm down and settle in. Don't shout or get stressed. Patience and calm. Love and attention. Rewards for good behaviour completely ignoring bad behaviour. Like a three year old child learns they more attention quicker if they are bad. So does a Husky. Ignore the bad behaviour. They will come around, it takes time.

Yeah, this normal with Dog scared or Dog aggressive dogs. It's the Fight or Flight reaction. When another dog approaches, if the sniffing isn't nice. They get ready to either run away or fight. However. . . . When a dog is on the lead THEY CANNOT RUN AWAY. So they instinctively go on the aggressive. The same dog off lead will at least sniff first before playing, moving away or getting dominant / aggressive.
