    HI

Hi, Londy. . . Welcome. . .as you haven't got a Husky yet. please read this, it may help in your decision. . . http://www.husky-owners.com/forum/index.php?/topic/6922-thinking-of-getting-your-1st-husky-read-this/
  8. Awful, totally innapropriate response.
  9. Welcome Sarah, Jack and Loki. If you need any help just shout, we're here to help. Yes, children and Huskies are a potent mischevious mix. . . lol Please post some pics of Loki
  10. We have a local cat we call Psycho cat. . . not because it's angry and aggressive, but because it seems to have no sense of fear. I'm walking my three, all of whom will make a light snack of this idiot cat. However everytime it sees us it jumps up and trots happily across the road. Tail up high in the air, and lays down on the pavement in front of us. I'm now practically at the horizontal hauling my 3 around this dumb arse cat. it then gets up and proceeds to follow us up the road. I think the cat just likes to see me suffer, as I drag my drooling pack away, arms straining.
  11. Hi, Andy Oooh, that's strange. . . . lol Welcome to the Madhouse. If you need any help don't be afraid to ask.
  12. Hey, Emily, Welcome back. Rest n take it easy. I know you just gotta do everything for everyone but. . . . you'll be surprised how they all cope when you can't. Logan looks like a sweety. Well done for rescuing him from that awful place.
  13. Ok here's some info for ya. It's a LOT of reading but you will know what you need to know to make an informed decision about what to feed your Sibe. http://www.husky-owners.com/forum/index.php?/topic/7899-raw-feeding-thread-1/ http://www.husky-owners.com/forum/index.php?/topic/8287-raw-feeding-thread-2/ http://www.husky-owners.com/forum/index.php?/topic/8555-raw-feeding-thread-3/ http://www.husky-owners.com/forum/index.php?/topic/9346-raw-feeding-thread-4/ http://www.husky-owners.com/forum/index.php?/topic/9365-raw-feeding-thread-5/ http://www.husky-owners.com/forum/index.php?/topic/10721-danger-foods/
  14. Saw something like this before. Great if you trust all the locals. I think it would be great with an "ordinary" breed but a quick slash with a knife and your gorgeous Husky would be being walked away and then on preloved later that day.
  15. It's that 6 degrees of seperation thing. . . like. . . you're in Durham. . . My step dad was from Consett. His name was Ray Maughan His cousin is Susan Maughan, local celebrity famous for singing "I wanna be Bobbies girl" back in the sixities.
  16. Good question and there is some dispute as to whether it's per day or per time of exercise, We've always gone with per time of exercise. Just not too many per day. He will sleep on and off for most of the day when young anyway.
  17. Awwww bless. I remember our first walk with OUR Koda (now called Daughtry because there are waaaaayyyyy too many Koda's and Kodah's on the forum) We carried her to the grass, plonked her down, she stood up and sniffed, we gave her a little tug to get her walking. She promptly sat down and refused to move. . . lol. We ended up going back and getting Echo our GSD (surrogate mum to Daughtry) and she followed her happily.
  18. It is recommended, that you wait a year because until then their joints and bones are not developed enough. and you may risk damaging them, which while not apparent while young may result in bad joints when they get a few years older. Also, (lol) Just in case you're not yet aware. exercising a new puppy. Again recommended. . . 5 minutes of exercise per MONTH of age. so 5 months old 25 mins of exercise. Hope this helps
  19. Tennis courts are superb . . .just make sure that all the fences are secure at the bottoms. Because he WILL find that 6" gap to squeeze through Also the ground is a bit on the rough side so be sure to check his pads afterwards for missing skin or splits.
  20. As has been said, Huskies have a VERY HIGH prey drive. if it's small and moving. . . Cat, Squirrel, Jack Russell, Leaf, Butterfly, bit of paper blowing in the wind. . . . you get the idea. . . Once your Husky sees it, it WILL want to chase it.. . . and almost no amount of shouting, calling, waving large slabs of sirlion steak will induce your Husky to come back. In this case there are two ways of getting your Husky back. . . 1. Someone else will snag your Husky and hold on to it until you've caught up the 3 miles you've been chasing it. 2.In a box. Because it ran across a busy road and was mowed down by a car, lorry, bus. (and you will be liable for damage to the vehicle) We may laugh and Joke about on this forum, but the ONE thing we take seriously is our Sibes. And. . . . One of the cardinal rules at the top of the DO NOT DO list is never let them off leash, unless you are in a fully secure area with 6-8ft fences. If you want to exercise you Husky wait until he/she is old enough (about 1year minimum) and then Use proper bikejoring / scootering / running equipment.
  21. Just found this on another website. . . . http://cuteanimals.t....com/2010/07/29
