Although I agree with what Bec is aiming at we "Humans" have De-evolved some breeds of dog to such an extent that should there be some non-nuclear and non massive climate change catastrophe small breeds such as pugs would have great difficulty in adapting back to the wild. They would probably end up as "prey" for the larger breeds.

As Keath Said, After blowing their coat they always look "skinny" especially around the waist it's quite normal. as their undercoat grows back you'll see they appear to regain "weight" . As for eating put the food out for 10-15 minutes if she doesn't eat it take it away until the next normal meal time She will soon learn that she eats when you put it down or she goes hungry. It is quite normal for them to sometimes go a day or more without eating, if it is more than 2 days this may be cause for concern. If she is normal in everything else don't worry, if she is not eating because she is not well you'll see she is also not acting her normal self.

Welcome Back, Ravinder Another Husky will not replace Ice, Just as another Dog will ever replace "Bear" for us. However another Husky is just as deserving of your love now that you can give it. We now have Daughtry (used to be Koda) and we have rehomed Darwin. and they have helped fill the hole in our hearts.

That royally sucks. . Do you have a joint contract with her for the property ? or is it all in your name and she "sub lets" Can you crash at your parents or friends until you get sorted again ?

I'd heard that it mimics them in the wild where they are not guaranteed to be able to hunt food every day and so some days they would go without.

WELCOME. . . . We have a pure White GSD, Called Echo (Whom a lot of peeps on the Forum have been kind enough to make an Honorary Husky) You can see her in my Sig Pic below. With her eyes closed Keek does look similar. Pure Shepherds NEVER have blue eyes, and Keeks muzzle is a lot shorter that Echo's Sid_Wolf has a White Husky called Kira and I think if we merged a picture of Kira and Echo we would have Keek. Looking forward to hearing all your stories of coping with Keek as she has grown.

So glad Kira is ok Sid. . How heavy is the crate?? Trouble is once they've done something once They will want to do it again, especially if it's something they learned for themselves. AND. . it gained her a LOT of attention which in her eyes is GOOD. So if she can push that crate out of the way she'll try again. IF she'd hurt herself she would have learned that it's not good to jump out of the window. BUT she didn't so in her eyes it's still a good thing to do. Can you Secure the crate so it can't be pushed out of the way. or can you lock the window so it's only open say an inch at the most. Not having a go Hun Coz until something happens we DON'T know its gonna happen. but once it has let's make sure it CAN'T happen again. Hugs. . .

We have similar problems with Darwin (we've had him a month) Seperation during the day / going out isn't a problem coz he has Echo and Daughtry to play with. But at night, well different story. His previous owners let him sleep on the floor in thier room. When we left him in the living room with Echo and Daughtry at night he sratches and scrapes at the door, Making a hell of a mess of the door and a lot of noise. So he sleeps in the hallway, we have to leave at least one of our bedroom doors open or he attacks the doors again. Mostly now he sleeps at the foot of the stairs on the laminate flooring (nice and cool for him) but occasionally he will sleep in the room . We are hoping that eventually he will become more settled and eventually join Echo and Daughtry in the living room overnight. trouble is we can't leave the living room door open at night coz the 3 of them playfight and run up and down the damn stairs all night. So I feel for you right now. but it will take time.
