My advice, get dogs first. If you do it the other way around (as we did),then the kids make you get a dog so you end up with both anyway!!.(or 4 kids plus 4 dogs as in our case!!) However, after training and raising 4 kids , a pack of huskies is relatively straightforward!!
I feel exactly the same as you.Dogs should be outside now at this time of the year, where at least I have a little break from the dog hairs! Instead, they are cooped up inside, shedding beautifully(x4!!)in fact,I can't remember a time when they haven't seemed to be moulting in the last 6 months or so.I think the weather has confused them totally!
Same here, but raining again now!Just got back from a walk in time tonight! I always think it must be so much easier living somewhere dry when you have dogs!
Lovely pics, looks a beautiful place to walk the dogs(when the sun's shining!).Cant ever remember so much rain as we have had here in South Wales lately.Really fed up with walking in the rain, cleaning muddy paws and the smell of wet dogs.Roll on the Winter!
:wow2:Totally unique and an absolute teddy bear!!.You are very lucky to have him.Watch him closely though and guard him well, anyone including me, would just love to steal him away!!
Yes,I know what you mean,it is difficult to have a favourite when you have 3 or 4,as you say, they are all special, and unique in their own way!.He is obviously calm and clever.Well done you ,on rescuing him and successfully re homing him.:clap:What a lucky boy to get that well deserved 2 nd chance.
Here are a few pics of Lycan, who as a pup, would jump on his chair to escape the rest of the pack.:eek:Nowadays,he is just a bit too big for it,but he still tries !!
LOL!
Morning Liz, Thank you for your kind comments!.About the garden...No secret honestly. We have always been strict when they first tried to dig as pups, and discouraged it,so they have never tried since. We can leave them outside for hours and they don't do any damage. The worst they have done is make a few bald patches on the lawn from excessive play and wee. Also Tundy has cocked his leg against so many of the shrubs and plants that they are a bit worse for wear but other than that it's ok.Mind you,you didn't see what it looked like before we had huskies...perfect!!
We have 2 large furminators for our 4.They work really well ,we use them almost daily, especially for removing the undercoat when shedding heavily.None of our dogs mind them and we have never had any problems with them hurting their skin etc.Couldn't be without them!
