  1. Sounds like the dude needs his jaw broken. That'd shut his loud ass mouth up. Anything else come of this?
  2. What should you do with him? Hmm... Tell ya what, I'm in Northern KY, I'll be down to get him Friday night. J/K. I'll tell you what I'd do if a nice, friendly husky that no one wanted fell into my lap: keep him, of course!
  3. Yeah, that or the TPLO procedure are the two best options. Either one seems like a really good procedure. The scary thing is 30-50% of dogs who tear one ACL end up tearing the other within two years. Crossing our fingers on that one, cause I don't think we can spend another $1800 after just spending that much.
  4. Update: He's scheduled to be admitted tomorrow evening and we get him back the following day (Friday). Hopefully it takes care of his issues. He's taving a procedure called a TTA done. Should (hopefully) be a longterm fix. I'll report the results back.
  5. Just got off the phone with my vet, there's a local surgery center that she called, not sure what the difference in the procedures is, but they want $2800-$3200.
  6. Troy hasn't been putting weight on one of his bag legs for probably 6 weeks now. Finally took him to the vet. His ACL is torn. Anyone else been through this? They're quoting $1800 for surgery. There are other "treatment" options, but I don't think they actually fix his ACL.
  7. My two sibes laying down and eating. It's a 90 sec video, and if you watch the first ten secs, you've really seen it all.
  8. Instead of buying an entirely new crate, you can order a metal pan. Akira ate her plastic one, and we ordered a metal pan. Petco, pet mountain, and amazon should all have them. TAKE GOOD MEASUREMENTS.
  9. I've not seen your posts in regards to Link before. Congrats on the addition. http://www.aspca.org/Pet-care/virtual-pet-behaviorist/dog-articles/how-will-neutering-change-my-dog See, behavioral changes -> social problems A quick google search will reveal other sources saying basically the same thing: neutered and intact dogs can have issues around one another. In my 2.5 yrs of regular attendance at my local park, I've never seen a dog running freely with a leash on (well, not intentionally allowed to run freely, seen leashes get dropped and dogs take advantage). Obviously that doesn't make it wrong, but I would be concerned for his safety as it could get stepped on or snagged on something. How does he react when you grab his collar? For the record, I'm not accusing you of being a poor dog owner. Just asking questions and giving my opinions... which is what the forum is here for.
  10. Let me make sure I got this straight, you keep a leash tied to your dog in the park? My park doesn't allow unaltered dogs, probably bc of reasons like this. Most of the problems I've seen there have been owners that break that rule, and bring their dog anyway. That dog will always create tension. How old is Link?
  11. TS, dude sounds like he was a jerk. I usually walk my GSD off lead, and will occasionally let Troy off lead, but usually only if we are deep in the woods somewhere where no one is around. As with a lot of things, a few people (like the one TS is talking about) kinda ruin it for everyone. If the owner has it under control, I'm fine with others walking their dogs off lead. It's the poorly behaved dogs that irk the hell out of me. TBH, one of the reasons I walk Bail off lead (in addition to reducing the number of leads) is so she can handle this type of nonsense. Unfortunately, she's had to do it a few times.
  12. Aww, that was awesome. lol at 1:28!
  13. I'm assuming these are going on the door? If not, why would you replace them daily?
  14. Wow! CJ must have caused the guards some real problems to end up in maximum security. LOL!!
