  1. Wtf! I didn't know there was a pokemon thread on here o_O So random, haha! Last one I played was Soul Silver for the DS. I'm not a huge fan of the games, it's pretty much the same thing over and over just with different pokemon. Nothing beats the original 151, NOTHING! The show has gone to crap now too ;_;
  2. This isn't a dog, wolf, or fox.... They aren't really sure what it's closely related to but I think it's neat! It's called a Maned Wolf. Randomly came across it the other day when I was searching, it's legs are CRAZY long! Weird but very neat.
  3. I'm not sure if anyone else keeps a log of how much they work their dogs, but I thought it would be interesting to start a thread where you could log that kind of data. I keep track of most of the dogs pawtrek journeys in a little book that I call the Musher's Log. I took some scans of the log but it didn't turn out too well ;_; so I'll just log the data into this thread. Right now I don't have a speedometer to keep track of my data while on the sled I figure it would cost me a decent amount to get a gps speedometer so no sledding data for a while. Coloring is the same as in the log :3 Pawtrek Scooter November 16th, 2011 - Windy 14.2ºC 2.583 Miles 23 Minutes 54 Seconds Max Speed 14.6 Mi/h Avs Speed 6.4 Mi/h November 17th, 2011 9.8ºC 3.414 Miles 29 Minutes 4 Seconds Max Speed 13.9 Mi/h Avs Speed 7.0 Mi/h November 18th, 2011 - Windy 5.5ºC 1.977 Miles 14 Minutes 24 Seconds Max Speed 17.6 Mi/h Avs Speed 8.2 Mi/h *Speedometer stopped working on way home December 3rd, 2011 1.9ºC 6.66 Kilometres 37 Minutes 49 Seconds Max Speed 25.19 Km/h Avs Speed 10.58 Km/h *New Speedometer - Took a while to get, bought online. Now that it's summer it's way too warm for them to run I can't wait til the fall when I can start running them again. According to the speedometer this is what their current all-together stats are: Total ODO 76 Total Time 6 Hours 44 Minutes Not too shabby, not as much as I would have liked but that doesn't count the sledding, runs they were on that I didn't record, and the runs on my first speedometer. It's interesting to see how the temperature and how frequently they run affects their speed/time. My first speedometer was a piece of junk, got a little muddy and it stopped working. The speedometer was a 21 function wired Bell computer bought through Wal-mart, if you plan on buying one, stay clear of Bell's. It also read in miles which does me no good since I'm Canadian and use to kilometres. Now I have a Sigma BC 1609 wired computer and it's AMAZING! I've had this thing through snow, mud, rain and it works like a charm! No worries about it dying on me. Got the computer through ebay for a really good price $40CAD and that's with shipping, I liked it so much I got one for my bike :3 So anyone else log their runs? I stole the idea from professional mushers http://www.youtube.com/user/MushingMonsters Videos of some of the runs can be found here <3
  4. I love the wydwl harnesses. My dogs are sled dogs so whenever they get on a harness that's attached at the back, their drive to pull kicks in. My arms really enjoy the wydwl harnesses. They still pull, but hardly, and I can manage to walk both of them at once now :3
  5. I have one but I don't use to too much. It doesn't seem to pull on their guard hairs, however, I'm extremely careful when I brush them. I find that the thing fills up way too fast and it's more of a nuisance than using the anti-tangle brushes that most people are talking about. I like the anti-angle comb brushes, I find they do a better job and you don't have to worry about it getting clogged up by the oils in their coat.
  6. I don't have a kennel but I find that for difficult poos to clean I scoop up as much as I can with my rake/shovel thing and then hose the rest of it off the grass, works well. I've been debating on getting myself some pea gravel as well, for under the kiddy pool (grass dead and mess when it gets wet). I wish I had kennels!
  7. The black rubber kong is the strongest one they have. I'm pretty sure that colored one is a puppy one, I know the one I had was. As for really tough toys you should look into the tuffy toys line. My dogs LOVE them, and I love them to because they last for months and months. I still have the tuffy toy I got for Kira for his first birthday! He managed to get a hole in it but still loves playing with it. They have a tough scale and the further you go up the scale, the more times the seams are stitched and the more layers of fabric they have to break through. They are such awesome toys, I can't say enough about them. http://www.tuffietoys.com/ I wouldn't order from their site though, little pricey. Finding them in store or online is your best bet.
  8. Sadie is terrible with eating really fast. I stopped using dishes because of it, even tried one of those metal ball things in the food, a slow food eating dish... Nothing worked. Now I feed them straight from the floor, just spread it out a little and BAM problem has been solved! She's a lot slower than she was, she will actually chew some of the food now.
  9. Holy crow it's been a while since I was last here, shame on me Been so busy lately that I finally got around to getting onto the new forum, looks awesome! I use to have an old youtube account, but last year I started up a new one because I didn't care for the name on the last one. So here's my new youtube account! Filled with videos just freshly put up <3 http://www.youtube.com/user/MushingMonsters Must say that I like the name a lot better Old account is linked on that account as well. Enjoy!
  10. Haha, we finally got snow, thanks to a snow storm last week. We ended up getting 15cm but it's sooo fluffy that it's hard to sled in, lol, the irony. Using snowmobile to try and pack it down.
  11. We got 3cms last night, if even. Dogs are loving it but its still not enough. Had to run them on the scooter yesterday since the roads were bare, no more ice... However, that's sure to change because on Tuesday and Wednesday it's going to be in the pluses again with a bunch of rain ._.
  12. If I had a HUUUUGE dump truck and the gas money to get there and back, I'd be there in a heartbeat lol
