  1. i got a kiddie plastic pool and Nanook is afraid of deep water even in lakes she doesnt soak above her belly but in the summer all they need is shallow water to cool off from their paws so kiddie pool easy to clean easy to fill and cheap, and they love it
  2. Nanook is a talkative female who talk back at me so i play with her like we have an argument its hilarious, and she reply to me everytime, she doesnt sing, but when she goes to sleep she growl like chubaka ahahhha and the puppy sound more like a bird than a dog so far... funny fur family finally
  3. Hello, i do not use the crate as punishment but as a place to calm down its all in the way i put the dog in the crate, very calm and no screaming, just a go to your bed and calm down a little not very long and everytime he relaxe and come out of ther calm and receptive. I am asking him to sit for almost everything, receiving food, affection, attention, but the kitchen its the mad place, so now when we eat, i crate him and the other one wonder around the table and im working on her to stay on the mat. I will try more positive reinforcement, but now the older one lost the privilege of the couch because her behavior, and they will be both off the furniture, period. i was very open with only one dog but now the dynamic has changed and i feel that i need more boundaries for both of them otherwise its mad house for sure
  4. i dont think that they will fight, and he came here very young but now sometimes she is very tough on him and he replies and she leave him alone, i think that they are still too young together but i believe that they will be inseparable juste the way they act at the day care .... but they certainly keep me occupied....
  5. Hello, my apache is nearly 5 months and he`s like a kangooroo, he likes to jump on kitchen counters, table, us, couch my 2years old daugther had a bad encounter with the puppy very much excited to see her, that one was severly punished ok not physically punished but he was put in crate for a while, to calm down.... any piece of advice, please cause my female never did that..... im lost and some of his bad behavior was well corrected but he`s still very much use his mouth and bitting theeting on my hands Cynthia
  6. ahhhaaah here same thing,Nanook play with the puppy and she play really rought with him to scare me really but he`s the pro of sumissive position, she leave him alone and he run and jump back in her face, poor girl he never gets tired,..... i hope this wil continue ok though she will not tolerate that for much longer
  7. i have a nearly 3 years old female sib who`s a wonderul dog, dominant but well balanced with humain and dogs, she is playfull and loving, and i introduced a 8 weeks old puppy in the winter, from the same breeder same parents as her, and the introduction was not without trouble, my female became very possessive and territorial, she was rough with the little one and we had to let them go outside separately and i had to watch all the time when they were playing together, even so when they go to doggy day care my female who never stop playing with other dog, doesnt play anymore, she mother him, she watch if other dog are rough with him she never enters in conflict with other dog her body language is strong enough that they leave the puppy alone and the puppy is a great dog, let the female dominate him but he is getting a little stronger so she is playing more now with him than before, but now my female started peeing in the house..... its sometimes hard to introduce a second dog even if you do everything to make it right.... any advice guys??
  8. I agree about the personality but you have something with husky that male male or female female can create alot of dominance problem. I have a male female here and they are more likely to become a inseparable couple than i had same sex dog. you have to see what you want but for my part i wanted to avoid dominance problem, and both are neuteured...well the puppy will be as well!!! Now here its a little different cause i have a mellow 3 years old female with a energenic ball of fur of 3 months, its now really dominance but exhaustion from the puppy ahhah but they are great
  9. Get yourself a high end quality metal crate with a separator its the best to train for potty training and i put a little blanket and nylabone inside or a kong something that they can releive stress or anxiety inside the crate and i feed the puppy for few months in the crate, so it create happyness to be inside and slowly it become their house a place that they feel secure. My big girl now is loose in the house and she does really great never broke a thing or chew a thing in the house and the puppy is in the crate and he does very well
  10. Good luck and i dont advice to let a husky run free...ever!
  11. i would really wonder what signs your dogs send before they got into fight, cause dogs dont burst like thant out of nowhere, they usually have dog signs that signal that something is wrong and us human dont pick on them all the time, not our fault, we are human not dogs... but try ti pay attention if they are different with each other, the tail, the ears, body language and lear from it, and yes water bottle are great ahahhah
  12. I never expect to have such a wonderfull dog... after 18months hahhahah no seriously i didnt expect to have such a difference in the 2 puppys, my female was mellow calm and really talkative and now i have a energy ball with my male puppy... and such a playfull mutt and determination and eager to please so they are so different and so lovely but arm yourself with patience at first they can be a handfull to train but they end up wonderfull, and i suggest obediance training its a great thing for bonding and a good thing to structure their mind to follow simple command i love it
  13. Neuteur your collie, hormone in male dog can be really hard sometimes so both being neuteur you will eliminate this cause and probably solve your problem... good luck
  14. Obediance training.... best time now, and if you burn the mind, you burn out the puppy:) and because you cant really jump, take several little walk and teach him or her tricks and obediance. And good luck. As well there is some game such as AIKIOU puzzle or any kind of dog puzzle that can help cause its working the dog mind
