  1. Day 2 of having Zelda. Pongo still needs to be watches as he can get rough.
  2. So the breeder accidentally sold our pup to someone else but that's OK! Zelda ran right up to us and started licking my face she's got such a wonderful disposition and is so smart! So anyway, here's Zelda!!
  3. So our new pup that we are getting is 6 weeks today and I received these pics last week for the 5 week photos. We have decided on the name Zelda and we know for sure now that this is our girl pup Hopefully I'll be receiving even more pics! It's so cool since I have never had pics of a pup since they were born. Any guesses on eye color? I'm guessing green. Anyway, on with the cuteness!! In this pic it looks like she has a parti eye in the left side just like Pongo does
  4. Thanks everyone!! I have updated pics! I believe that she is trying to hold the red in the pic with the gray pup for us I just like that her markings are different and her eyes look like they are going to be a cool color. Doesn't look like blue but maybe green or amber Pups are 5 weeks old and I can't wait to bring her home!! We have also decided on a name... Zelda! My hubby actually picked it out We are sticking to the video game and movie names in our house. (Sonic the cat, Meeka the cat, Pongo the dog) Anyway, on with the pics!! They are getting so fluffy!!!
  5. Just curious, what does NILIF stand for?
  6. Thanks for the replies! We were considering laminate as it is so close to wood as well. I was wondering how durable it is with nails, bones and possible accidents with the soon to be new pack member. We are actually considering porcelain tiles as well, but the kind that looks like wood. I would love to keep carpet, but with the cats throwing a hair ball every other day, and salty dog feet, it gets stinky so fast!! Lol pain to clean too!
  7. Yeah Pongo did this around that age too. It got really bad on walks he would start jumping up and biting for no reason, maybe because we weren't going the way he wanted. We actually had to show him who was "boss" again. We basically turned our backs to him, made him sit then lay down (he had a huge prob with laying down at this time). Then when he calmed down, we continued. I agree with what others said, keep up with the training and he should be OK. Pongo will still shake his head no sometimes when we ask him to do something lol but he will do what we want in the end. Definitely don't give in
  8. I thought the same thing when I was first looking at them. He actually seems to act exactly the same when we walk with the backpack and when we don't. He was always a water hog and would gulp water after any walk. I did fill the bottles up with mostly ice so maybe that kept him a bit cool. Doesn't seem to bother him any more than the sun does on any other day lol. hahaha. He actually didn't drink much from the river which is weird. we do have a collapsible plastic bowel for him when he wants water on the trail that doesn't meet the river.
  9. We did start by walking around the neighborhood with 8oz of water in bottles on each side then worked up to 16oz then the bottles were full on this trip. What we did initially was make a big fuss about what a good boy he was when we first put it on him. He associates the pack with praise and walks so he loves it
  10. Pongo absolutely loves his backpack! He walks around so proud of it lol.
  11. So my husband and I are looking to rip out all the carpet on our first floor and put porcelain or laminate flooring. What kinds of flooring do you guys have or have had that holds up to running huskies? I really like the laminate because it looks like wood but I think the porcelain would last longer. What are your thoughts?
  12. New pics Any guesses on eye color? lol
  13. So I got updated pics today! So excited! All the red girls are absolutely adorable!! It wouldn't matter to me which one we got as they are all beautiful. I really hope some of their eyes will stay blue at this point or at least one of them Photos are courtesy of Sarah Hubbach, she does a great job!! I added the words to keep straight what age these pics were taken
  14. Pongo thanks you for the compliments I have recorded a bunch on DVR so we can play it whenever Pongo wants. What I really think gets his attention is the background noise. They use squeekers, goose honking and children saying good dog, let's play. Then Pongo gets excited when he sees dogs playing.
