  1. this is a pic of me and my girls racing at sherwood forest a few years back. the rigs technical name is rig lol reece
  2. http://www.huskyracing.org.uk/pages/downloads.html try looking at this free download guide, then if you can ask more specific questions
  3. great trail, it was warm again but apart from the bikes the dogs loved it
  4. LAhu9xWrsU8 a video of our race this weekend, saturday on the left, sunday on the right nush
  5. keep it as simple as you can, too many commands will soon confuse your dog, also just because your dog understands these commands at walking pace doesnt mean he/she will understand them at running pace, corners happen very fast when your dog is running so until they get used to things i usually just tap the brakes a touch to get the teams attention just before i give the command. nush
  6. i wouldnt train on concrete or tarmac surfaces, both surfaces have high impact on your dogs joints and feet, i would cross a tarmac road or use one on a very short section of a trail but that would be my limit, if you choose to train on hard surfaces that hurt the dog, it will learn to cope with that impact by altering its stride the problem with that is that you probably wont get the best out of your dog and the altered stride may put unnatural pressure on another joint or bone. nush

  10. if its a breed club event then its that clubs responsibility to promote the breed, why should a breed enthusiast put an event on for what could be say an alaskan husky, the shcgb would know that a well bred and well trained alaskan would be able to beet even the best of sibes therefore the alaskan husky would be the dog that is getting promoted. some none breed clubs allow dogs without papers to run. nush
  11. ive never done that event but i seem to remember talk of the trail being stony. so maybe thats why its been dropped from the race calendar
  12. SHCGB used to hold a rally there, dont know if they still do but this is a link to an old race results page http://www.siberianhuskyclub.com/working/results/rallysummary?idofrace=grizedale2002
  13. these three all do the same job but are made by different peeps, its important to get a good fit but that goes for any harness type. if you decide to go for the nordkyn shout on here first as a mate brought loads in some time back and is selling them of cheap while stocks last. nush
  14. hi ron strange how you meet on different forums. vestibular is so frightening when its happening to your dog, but the worst effects of it can usually be over in 48 hours, that 48 hours is seriously hard work but well worth it when your pet comes back to almost normality, the head tilt doesnt ruin your pets life its just inconvenient and no more than that. reece or nigel to you ron ha
  15. sorry, ive just seen this thread for the first time, this is our experience of vestibular http://zabalaz.co.uk/vestibularsyndrome.htm it is so frightening reece
