  1. Just a thought after reading this and a few others. My ex husband's brother would make his son and daughter stand there in time out hugging eachother everytime they would fight. If they didnt successfully complete the time out that way it was a spanking with a belt or paddle. It worked, for the most part. I mean no siblings never fight, but they got to the point where they would rather leave each other alone then stand for 10 minutes hugging eachother. Just a thought.
  2. I have been there. I truly hate to admit it, but sometimes my children just drive me to want to drink... again. My oldest I swear she needs therapy or something. She is turning into a habitual lier and she NEVER listens to me. She is only 7 I am terrified of what is gonna happen as a teenager. They live with their dad most of the time, but once my week is over I am ready to collapse. It is sad. It has been a very long time since I have been 100% full time mom I feel for you. I do have my times when I wonder why in the heck I ever wanted kids. So I understand that feeling. Hang in there. Oh and as far as smacking them. I have done that and I do not hesitate to give a smack on the mouth when they are back talking or a smack on the rump if they are not listening and acting up.
  3. You have such sweet little fur babies! Glad to have you!!!!!
  4. Thank you all! We are making huge strides. They use puppy pads now successfully inside so if we don't catch them in time they use those. We also use them at night so they can sleep with us. This has eliminated most of the accidents on the carpet. They no longer chew clothes. We got them some pork hide twisty bones that they love and 4 squeaky toys that they are rarely seen without and even take to bed with them. We are working on cleaning the basement still so not quite ready to work on the paper or puppy pad training down there yet, but should be easy since they are already used to it. *edited for spelling (used my phone before and it is a pain)
  5. my heart goes out to both of you having to make such hard decisions but they will be renewed and healed on the other side. run free beloved ones
  6. they bonded as a pair longbefore we got them. we are bonding withthem they have each claimed one of us as far as play goes eeither i dont know how to engage them or they have no interest.
  7. no it is not fenced i take them out on leashes. im still trying to convince my husband to get a tie up outside
  8. any suggestions on what they can be given to destroy?
  9. never thought of the clothes that way though. it has seemed to help with all but socks as far as clothes go.
  10. ok so no on the saying no when they go on the floor... check i agree they have to have an indoor potty option when we are not home. i would like them to try and tell me when we are home though, but have the indoor option as well just incase. glad you agree with the puppy pads i am hoping it works. then going inside wouldnt be a problem for me.
  11. I may have to give the supervision thing a try, I have personally never heard of it. It will have to be when I am home of course, but the basement is free of temptation because I dont feel it would be right for me to punish them for chewing something that is just left down on the floor down there when I am not around that would be my fault not theirs. I was really proud of them last night we left them in our bedroom while we went our instead of the basement which they hate anytime other than while we are at work, and we put up a couple things they tend to chew and we dont want destroyed and when we came home they are sleeping in their ususal spot and there was nothing that had been chewed we were so proud of them we gave them tons of praise and pets and treats for being such good boys. as I mentioned in one of the above posts there are generally no signs when they have to go they just do it. I was suprised actually.
  12. Yes they are left alone all day. I hate it, but unfortunately we have no alternative. That is why they are not expected to hold it all day. What is your thought on the idea of the puppy pad training for the basement so they have just one potty area, do you think that will help?
  13. No we got them at 4 and 5 months. They are cousins, but raised as brothers. they are getting Purina puppy chow, 2 cups a day each No we assumed at that age it was better to go straight to house breaking, thinking that one over and are now working on the puppy pads regular feedings as that is how they were started out, however I have increased the amount. They were only giving a cup a day each.
