  1. Thanks everyone! We only had a 3 day legal wait period before we picked up our License. The hardest part was finding a wedding officiant to not only perform the ceremony on a holiday (New Year's Eve) but also willing to do it on such short notice. We called over 50 officiants before we found one that agreed to. She was great though, we laughed the whole way through the ceremony, it felt more like a group of people hanging out, causally rather than stuffy and up-tight. It was a total blast, albeit cold!
  2. ALSO, for reference, Nick's is 8mm wide, so a thick, wide band
  3. samantha-jayne hun, I'll be honest, we bought ours on eBay. They carried our sizes and we narrowed them down not only by size, but by metal, price, even location. Also, my band is 4mm thick, which is about standard for a band for a woman, but they do make thinner bands, and wider bands, depending on what you are searching for. When I did my search on ebay, I simply typed in, 'ring sz 7.5' and there were a TON to pick from. Just remember, the better quality the metal, the longer it will last. Nick drives a semi truck for a living, so we bought him a tough band. I don't do anything nearly like that, but mine is made of Rhodium. Let me know if you need help, I can offer suggestions, especially when dealing with ebay.
  4. Well, they camera was zoomed in, they don't seem that large on our hands, though Nick's is VERY heavy. His is made of Tungsten Carbide and Titanium.
  5. Thank you, we weren't sure if we could pull it off, both financially or just working with the time line. Nick proposed Dec. 4th, so I had less than a month to get everything situated, but some how, it all came together!
  6. I couldn't feel guilty if I wanted to...Blaze is such a jacka$$ sometimes, I almost think Karma's looking down at me, winking, saying, "Got'm!"
  7. Okay, not so much dog related, but on New Years Eve (our 2 year anniversary of dating) Nickolis and I were wed! We had a 'country themed' wedding, complete with plaid and we did it outside on a bridge over a lake! We had a blast, the officiant was great! The most amazing thing? It was horrible weather the day before and the day after the wedding, but on our wedding day, not a drop of rain or snow fell! Sorry I've been MIA lately, been busy planning a wedding
  8. To be honest, like your parents, before I personally adopted another dog (non Husky) I told myself never in a million years do I want another dog, Blaze is a hellion! But, that being said, you know what changed MY mind? When I actually went and saw her. She was NOTHING like Blaze, she was calm, sweet, didn't bite, and I knew she NEEDED a home. MAYBE, just maybe, if you can SHOW your parents a dog (in person) who's calm, and well behaved, perhaps they might stop thinking in the back of their minds, 'Oh god, I don't want another psycho dog' kind of thing. Nick had to practically drag me down to yet another shelter...We had been to at least 5 of the damn things before we came across the shelter that had Lilah (aka LOLA) and by then, I had my heart set, 'Nope, no more dogs, I don't want TWO bastards ripping around my house and destroying it.' Then we got to the run that had Lilah in it. She just sat there, and waited...Didn't bark, didn't jump up, just sat there, big brown eyes, pleading with me to pet her, but she wasn't going to be pushy, she wagged her tail a little, but not too much to make me think she was hyper, so I took her kennel card information to the front desk, they let us keep her in a room for over two hours, and after the 3 hour adoption process and information gathering, we took her home, and it was the best decision I EVER made...Blaze is a PERFECT ANGEL now. Just a story/scenario for your parents to consider. Good luck Elyse
  9. BingBlaze'n'Skyla while I do think there's a difference between flinching and just disliking having their heads touched, Blaze hates having his head touched at all, but his is a dominance thing.
  10. Thanks for tagging me, Tiffany, wouldn't it be something if Nick and I had our own miracle someday? Thank you so much for the hope, it may never happen for us, but I bet that mother thought so too!
  11. Oh that is just tooo precious! Thanks so much, Lou, they are GORGEOUS!
  12. AND, unlike the other shelters we had visited, this shelter fixes ALL dogs in their care before adopting them out, they don't keep them unaltered and make the owner agree to do it by contract!
  13. I thought this was just awesome, and like others, I had never heard of or seen one before! They said they do it with all of their females, which I think is just great!
  14. Hmmmm, not letting me post the Lilah picture :/
  15. I don't know what you can do with these two, but they're really the best I have of the two of them
