  1. There are always reasons for a dog showing aggression, the more likely cause in this instance will be fear and insecurity rather than out right dog aggression. A dog that is dog aggressive will give no quarter and would not even tolerate another dog in the same room. Fear based aggression is easier to deal with, there isn't a quick fix, it's very difficult on a forum to address this without seeing the dogs interact.
  2. I joined this forum to be able to say thank you to all of those who responded too and continue to respond to the pleas for help to find rescue spaces, foster homes and rehome Huskies and other dogs in need. I have been involved with rescue for a very long time and I am passionate about dog welfare and more importantly the education of the dog owning public, I firmly believe that if people did their research before owning their dog or breeding there would not be a need for rescue and people like me. I am the rescue coordinator for a Labrador Forum and generally this is the breed I have in the past been more involved with. I have had various dogs through me life, CKCS and Rotties and more recently from rescue an Irish Wolfhound who died at 11months old, an IWH X Labrador, a Black Labrador and a Utonagan, now before you all throw your hands in the air and say ITS A CROSSBREED, yes I know;) we have the same argument about Labradoodles on Labrador Forums:). I have enjoyed having a look through this site, you all have some beautiful dogs. Please keep up the good work on educating people about this wonderful and very intelligent breed.
  3. I noticed you said that the kennels couldn't find a chip, but he must have been chipped for the pound to know his name and trace his owners, it's quite likely it's migrated then somewhere:)
  4. I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for opening you home to Kaviq, he was one of 15 dogs that I had to find spaces for and it was tough, Kaviq was the last dog and I was almost giving up hope, but then Tansy/Magpye posted around on the Husky sites for me and here we are. Sadly, the week before I was asked to find a rescue to take 5 Huskys and this week another 2 are on ONE Local Authority pound list waiting to be either found a rescue space or Killed. Sad reality is that this breed is falling into the wrong, inexperienced hands
