  1. Mine go through the dishwasher once a week their water buckets also every week in the summer, less frequently in the winter as the water is changed over multiple times per day with the freeze over. We are also a kibble feeding kennel, so the bowls don't get too dirty.
  2. If they just used Strongid once that is not a worming round, it has to be repeated in 14 days or it does not kill the eggs and the dog won't be parasite free. I don't use Strongid I've never had good luck getting the dogs parasite free with it because it's always something comes up and I miss the 14 day repeat dose....I do fenbendazole 5 day treatment annually.
  3. I am not a fan of these topics. If you're looking at a Siberian you should be willing to accept the pros as well as the cons of the breed. Being off lead is not a strong point neither is their recall by nature. If you want to risk losing your Siberian that is your prerogative, I myself will continue to choose to only allow mine off lead in their secure fenced play yard.
  4. Thin could just be in her genetics, without seeing her parents even grandparents it's hard to say. There is a big difference between dogs of racing lineage vs show lineage. Like SolitaryHowl says a pic of her from different angles could help us see more if she is a concerning weight or if it's just how she's built. My only other question would be has she been wormed regularly?
  5. Unless they came from the same lines there really is not comparison. Each line develops so much differently. My 6.5mo old baby girls are as big as my 2 year old male Seal and just about as big as my 6 year old female Juneau.
  6. I just wanted to post a little bit of Hair Follicle Dystrophy linked to hyper-pigmentation of the skin- This dog you can see the hyper-pigmentation of the nose and lips- The end result-
  7. Enya Rockie Seal Kenna Dakota Denali Timber Juneau
  8. I am curious who your breeder is and if these pups are of lines that would be of show quality. If you don't mind sharing
  9. Snow noses are not a problem in the show ring, unless you are under a judge that just doesn't know the standard as well as they should which does on occasion happen. The problem noses are more like the pics of pup2 and pup3 where that appears to be more of a lack of pigment which is a fault not a snow nose. If you are going to want to show pick a pup with good structure over some cosmetics but keep the cosmetics in mind if you are considering breeding, poor pigmentation is starting to be linked to other more serious disorders.
  10. A nice 5.5 mile training run with our now 5 dog team! Introducing our newest member of the team, Tumnatki's Mason a 6 year old veteran Siberian Husky lead dog. He will be running lead with Denali, Juneau in point, and Dakota and Seal running wheel.
  11. The cart has been the best addition ever! We've been really having a lot of fun growing the team with the cart. Wish it would snow already though so we could pull out the sled!
  12. Practice, Practice, Practice! My dogs had the same habit of wanting to meet and greet everything on the trail, we practiced with other teams running side by side, head on passing, etc until the desired result was figured out.
  13. http://contour.com/stories/the-teams-first-run-with-mason This video is of our dryland mushing training today with our new lead dog Mason. Denali and Mason are in lead, Juneau is in point, and Seal and Dakota are running wheel.
  14. He looks like he's in that gangly 'teenager' phase. Totally normal to look kinda noodlie
  15. Denali, Seal, Kenna, and Enya would be returned to their breeders. Dakota, Juneau, Diamond, and Riley will go to my friend who runs a Siberian Husky Rescue to be placed into Siberian approved homes. Rockie and Tikaani will go to my friend who takes in wolf dog rescues into her 'sanctuary'. Aspen will go to my Aussie friend to be placed into an appropriate mini-aussie home. It's all provisioned in my will along with funding to each group to assist in the transfer.
  16. Though Denali is out on the injured list with a torn pad (from playing in the yard not in harness related) training must go on! Running in his place is once again Xena of Dashing Siberians. The team performed flawlessly over 6 miles, and with any luck Denali will be back in harness with his team in no time!
  17. I'm torn, I don't know if I would call her a 'woolie' or not either, though her coat is overly plush. She certainly has a unique look that is for sure.
  18. I'm not sure how many of you celebrate Thanksgiving but I'd like to take the time to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving from our 'family' to yours As we reflect on the past year there are many things to be grateful for, there is but one overshadowing sadness as tomorrow also marks the 1 month anniversary since we lost our Timber. Thus I have put him in our greeting card as an angel, though he's gone physically he remains part of our hearts forever-
  19. Had he recently been vaccinated? The Lepto vaccine can actually induce seizures in this breed is why I ask. Unless your area has a Lepto problem there is little reason to vaccinate for it- I always opt out on my Siberians and have never had an issue.
  20. As soon as Thanksgiving is done and over with our Christmas decorations are going up!
  21. Thank you all! I could not be more pleased in how he's shaping up and the harness work is going well too.
  22. Excellent photos! Good luck and have fun LOVE your scooter also
  23. Thank you so much I'm just so proud, he just keeps getting better and better! Can't wait to see where he is a year from now
