  3. The Best of Breed competition consisted of 65 dogs/65 bitches. Quite the undertaking, it lasted all day! They were shown in 6 groups of dogs and after a lunch break 6 groups of bitches. Winner's Dog- Stormwatch's Typhoon at Windswept CD, BN, RE GCH Karnovanda's Tenzing GCH Kaniska's Kauz For Kamotion At Talkeetna Wayne Curtis and GCH CH Stormwatch's Mozart
  4. This was a special event held on Wednesday night, these are the top 20 by points AKC Siberians in the nation. This is just Catalog Order, which means nothing at this stage, the judges (3) evaluated all dogs and there was a silent ballot for 'People's Choice' both announced at the Banquet Saturday night which I unfortunately was not able to attend.
  5. The H-back is a longer style and has an open back which usually fits long and/or wide-bodied dogs better than the X-back, which is sized to fit dogs with typical “sled dog bodies.” I am in the process of moving Denali into an H-back since the X-back seems to make him crab (trot sideways), he's got a long body so we'll see how it goes.
  6. I apologize in advance, these photos were taken with my iPhone so not the best of quality. But I wanted to share with you this year's Top 20 Siberians (not all 20 were in attendance) GCH Huskavarna's Destined To Win CH Barynuk's God Of Lightning, CD, RN, AX, AXJ, NF CH Apache Run's Silver Bullet At Iceburg GCH Marionhill Morning Frost OA, OAJ, OAP, AJP GCH Indigo's Synama Wood Imp GCH Karnovanda's Tenzing GCH MACH Sumac's That Mr Know-It-All RN, CDX, MXS, MJG, MX GCH Melrose Walk The Line CH NorthStar's Vengeance Is Mine, RE GCH Tovik's Haute Couture Topaz Silver Lining GCH Tackora's Cookie Cutter CH Windswept's Flying Raven CD, RAE, OA, NAJ GCH Zvezda's Icarus SD
  7. You only really see it at specialty shows, but it is amazing to see! I can't imagine handling 4 dogs in the ring at once! 1 is enough for me!
  8. Thank you Rosemary! I would love to do Agility too, but I fear my dogs are to A.D.D. to do it! LOL
  9. Brace Conformation- in this class two dogs show together, and must not only conform to the standard, but also look and move as one. Team Conformation- in this class 4 dogs show together, and must not only conform to the standard, but also look and move as one
  10. Here are some of the pics I took at the 2012 SHCA National Specialty in Provo UT. Enjoy! It was a great day of 'Flying Siberians'
  11. I think it's deplorable! No reputable breeder would sell their pups out of the back of cars or on street corners...thankfully it is now illegal to sell puppies on the roadside or public parking lots in WA.
  12. Thanks! I have a lot of pics to go through when I get home! Wi-Fi here is not so good...
  13. Open Dog 9/5/2012 Kaniska's Ashen Hotshot Denali and I had a really fun time we didn't place but it was still a really good time within the company of some of the most amazing dogs in the country
  14. That would be the one! I know that most lines can be traced back to one of the 6 founding dogs, but it's cool to actually be able to walk the lines all the way back without break. Some of the much further back founding dogs of our lines are very neat to see
  15. Denali's Sire GCH-CH Galena Crk's On Fire At Kaniska 'Ember' Denali's Dam AKC pointed Waymar's Tiger Lily 'Lily' Kenna and Enya's Sire CH Galena Creek's Dream Keeper 'Tiko' Enya and Kenna's Dam UKC CH Ziemabora's Song of the South 'Starry' I can trace both of our lineages all the way back to Togo and Fritz Most with photos
  16. Found Dan's Kennel online as well, will agree just another puppy mill for sure. Being from that background can be such a crap shoot as far as health goes, hope the back doesn't become an issue
  17. What were her parents like? What's in her line? Its not uncommon for them to go through lanky stages as they grow and not to reach full development before 4yrs...but 24" is way over standard for a bitch.
  18. Thank you sydneys and Leyka&Diva
  19. Thank you all! One last check before the laptop gets packed away for the trip tomorrow!!
  20. I have a few huskies and a mini-aussie. Denali (siberian) and Aspen(Aussie) that were born 4 weeks apart, they grew up basically as brother and sister. The only thing is I think the Aussie thinks she's a Siberian. Other than that they have been the best of friends and no issues Good luck and looking forward to many more pics
  21. That happened with my Juneau. We were in Petsmart and a kid on those roller-shoes flew around the corner and slammed into her, she was 5 months old. The kid apologized but since then she hasn't trusted kids. It got better with time as we had more positive child interactions, but it took us a while since we don't have a lot of kids around.

Can't wait to see what you come up with next I did like the one you did, but agree it was a bit busy. And YES I am one of those with a signature that's bigger than most of my comments....I guess that happens when you have 11 dogs
  23. Totally agree with JMScott, health testing and ensuring breed quality is not just for show dogs! I strongly believe that any animal being used for breeding should be completely health and genetically screened (CERF, SHOR, OFA, etc) to ensure health of the litters produced. These breeders don't typically end up with the faults, though floppy ears can be very normal for puppies under 12 weeks old.
  24. Congrats on the nice buck! I miss going out hunting and the fresh meat we'd get from the hunt. Just don't have the time anymore...but my friends still give us a number of bones and scrap meat/organs for the dogs every year so they're still getting spoiled
  25. Thanks Rosemary it was a really nice day to be lazy and hang out in the yard with everyone They say we're headed for cooler weather finally and that should reflect in the dogs activity levels soon!
