  1. It's perfectly legal, they just passed a law allowing ATV usage on all county roads and night usage is allowed as long as you have lighting on the machine I would love to go off road but most of the trails close to us are harsh rock and we're seeing a lot of cougars in the area now. I also like staying close to home since my team is still learning as am I and they don't have a ton of endurance built up yet. They actually did really well with the ATV which I was even surprised, I think the biggest down side is it was harder to communicate with them over the noise of the machine.
  2. I haven't been to a National Specialty since 2008 when it was in Gettysburg, I'm so excited to be going again! I'll be able to see some family I haven't seen in years also, so it's going to be great, and I'll be showing Denali
  3. Well lets see I have 11 dogs total, 6 male, 5 female. They spend each day in the yard together and are kenneled in pairs at night (25'x10' runs) and the ONLY time I have ever had an issue with anyone is with my 2 intact males when our females go into heat, the neutered boys could care less as do the spayed females. Knowing the issue now we just separate the boys when the girls come into season and no issues
  4. She may have another growth spurt left in her, most Siberians don't finish developing before 2-4 years. Without knowing anything about her lineage it's hard to say.
  5. Thanks! I have definitely been having a lot of fun, and once I got over the fear of crashing of course We'll be going out again tomorrow, this time during daylight hours LOL it's getting dark so early and so quickly now luckily the ATV has good headlights!
  6. You're going?! If plans all work out we'll have to try to meet up
  7. Welcome to the forums! So you are looking to get a Siberian Husky As far as climate goes, Siberians are very adaptable. I lived in Phoenix with my first one for years with no issue just NEVER shave a Siberian and always make sure they have access to fresh clean water. Be prepared for massive shedding! Huskies are high energy, so multiple walks daily, hiking, eventually biking/skating are all excellent outlets for that energy. Hiking (exercising) during the heat of the day isn't highly recommended but in the cooler morning and evening temps are very acceptable. When you say 'communal' yard how well is it secured? Siberians cannot be off lead outside of a well fenced (6') area or on a long lead, they have a high desire to run and poor recall. Where are you planning on getting your Siberian? Breeder? Rescue?
  8. Aww maybe next year I'm going to try to get lots of pics to bring back here!

  10. The SHCA National Specialty show is coming up (Oct 2-6) and I was wondering if anyone else is going? Provo UT this year so we'll be driving out! If anyone is going lets meet up!
  11. Took a chance and hooked the dogs up to the bike for the first time ever! I'll call it a success since we didn't crash I did end up switching Denali into lead since he knows the commands a little bit better. We had a lot of fun and can't wait to go out again! https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10151153060071590
  12. That's really sad! There was a story like this I loved when I was growing up about a Collie that stood wait for his master, who had died and who's body was taken by train to another area. The dog waited at the train station greeting every train until the day he died as well. There is a statue of him overlooking the town, still waiting for his master's return. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/4367
  13. That is really great! I think as we approach having out own puppies something like this will be going on the puppy page! Thank you for the wonderful tip
  14. That's a wonderful idea/policy! I'll have to think about implementing something like that for our site! We're nowhere near puppies but better to think ahead!
  15. I feed TOTW (adult) to my kennel and most of my average sized Siberians are on 2-2 1/4 cup per day. Denali gets a bit more since he's still maturing and developing. The girls are eating TOTW (puppy) 3 times a day now at 4 months old, they were on 4 feedings per day up until recently with much success.
  16. Thanks! I'm really excited about it! And I finally figured out how to get it to be recognized by Google, so now it's officially public I'll be continuing to make tweeks here and there to it, so I'm open to suggestions or corrections/changes!
  17. Tablets are difficult, which is why we use liquid/paste wormers
  18. I'd like to take the time to announce we just launched our very own website for Keahi Siberian Huskies! Please feel free to check us out www.keahisiberianhuskies.com
  19. Rough play is very normal! We call it playing Husky Gladiator around our house LOL. Now our mini-aussie thinks she a Gladiator too!
  20. Nice lookin young man! Good luck!
  21. Thanks! I think I'm starting to see that nice dark red coming through in Enya
