  1. Thanks everyone Yes the girls are growing fast!!! Before I know it they'll be all grown up!
  2. This is my personal FaceBook- https://www.facebook.com/Lani193 and my kennel FB is in my signature link
  3. I really wanted a silver-gray, but my first one ended up being black/white. When it came time to find our second I still really wanted my silver-gray and anything BUT a red....I hadn't seen many reds that I really liked and that's when we met Juneau. She was a dark copper red and in love we fell. 4 years later I got my gray boy and this year added a gray girl and another red. But I no longer choose my Siberians based on color or eye color.
  4. A couple of things, it's obvious Kyser is not a Siberian and probably has a far different recall than your Siberian does. Siberians are notorious for poor recall and having their own independent will. Next I'd have to say rather than treating the other dog and hoping that your pup will pick up on the subtle hint of what you are doing, reward your pup when the expectation is met even if it's not the first time reward the behavior when it's met and the next time you'll see the expectation met sooner.
  5. It depends on the severity of the murmur, as mentioned many people and animals live unaffected by heart murmurs for years without any intervention needed....Some like my 11month old filly die from complications caused by the murmur . Its too bad she forwent the vet specialist because it sounds like there is reason for concern, but I'd leave speculation alone and get a definitive diagnosis.
  6. A Siberian is more likely to 'get free' and never be seen again than to act like the classic 'Lassie' aiming to save Timmy from the well. Another risk I'm not willing to take. Another thing to consider is if your loose dog doesn't free themselves from the wreck but rather stay to protect their owner they pose a great threat to emergency workers and can prolong you receiving treatment/transport. Also, in a wreck your loose dog becomes a projectile within the vehicle being killed or severely injuring or even killing other occupants of the vehicle.
  7. Personally I crate when we travel. After our friend was involved in a really bad accident, severely injuring her and the show dogs she was traveling with. It was said that if her dogs hadn't been crated they would have been killed. One of which was our girl's sire 'Tiko' who has had to take the last 5 years off from showing due to his injuries. Since then I don't let my dogs ride out of their crates, they mean too much to me to lose them to something like that....people don't let their children ride unrestrained, why let your dogs?
  8. You can start introducing the harness 6-12 months with no resistance, 12-18 months with light/moderate load, and at 24 months be able to start allowing full pulling ability conditioning. Though the breed is 'bred to pull' you can do a lot of irreparable damage to growth plates if not introduced and conditioned properly.
  9. Thank you all Yes they grow up too fast, but it's so fun while it lasts! It's hard to believe they are almost 4 months old already!!! I'm going to have to start working more with them as they'll be in the show ring before we know it! Hard to believe really....
  10. Some recent pics of the handsome Tiko from last weekend's show CH Galena Creek's Dream Keeper 'Tiko' (left) is sire to GCH-CH Galena Crk's On Fire At Kaniska (right) who is sire to GCH-CH Kaniska's Kauz For Kamotion At Talkeetna (middle). Quite the impressive family legacy
  11. Thanks to little Enya the water bucket (meant for drinking from) turned into a muddy mess!
  12. he's hangin around always watchful of his girls
  13. Where there's a way to make a fast buck there is someone there to take advantage of it....unfortunately there is so much bad info out there about how these 'hybrid' mixes are healthier, don't shed, more trainable, etc than their KC registered counterparts and the worse part is people believe it and flock to these irresponsible BYBs!
  14. Late to the conversation, but with 11 (2 being 14weeks old) let me tell you it can sometimes seem like a full time occupation! However, I can't imagine my life with out them!!! Everyone gets all day outside yard time, we have a very large dog yard for them to enjoy. Exercise doesn't take too long with a walking belt or biking multiple dogs at a time. Transport gets interesting, looking at investing in a dog box for my truck but for now the mega cab does just fine. Feeding only takes 30 mins start to finish. Overall it's an enjoyment more than it is work
  15. Good lord you should hear mine around feeding time! A bark or two is absolutely normal for a dog, let the dog be a dog!
  16. My girls who are now almost 14 weeks old are on Taste Of The Wild Puppy Formula with great results, all of my adults are on TOTW and we have been more than pleased. We are feeding 3 times a day now, originally 4 times a day (8-11 weeks) Our breeder had them on Wellness Puppy which always gave them loose stools which indicated it was a bit too calorically dense for the little ones. But since the switch became final, solid stools, healthy skin, beautiful coat, healthy happy puppies.
  17. I built my own kennel runs with supplies from a fencing company far cheaper than the pre-fabed ones, just have to be sure you get the higher grade chain link fencing not the thin stuff (which most per-manufactured ones are made of). Welded wire fencing under the gravel floor to prevent dig-out and as a 'lid' for climb out precautions. I've been really lucky though that my dogs don't dig or climb so they stay in the fenced yard all day without issue. I have a large trough for water and working on building more shade areas. I was paranoid at first, but now it's a relief that they have a safe containment to play in while I'm away at work.
  18. "I love you! Goodnight" From me to the hubby before going to sleep at the station for the night.
  19. The pic has to be public in order for non-friends to view....sorry can't see it either.
  20. Thank you very much Word is just now trickling in from Redmond OR Working Dog Specialty that our papa Tiko has FINISHED his AKC Championship with his third Major win in a row! We could not be more thrilled for him, his owners, and representing the family line a strong way!!
  21. His coat is still out of condition, but his handler is doing amazing work turning him around The last judge he was under said even with damaged coat and missing a piece of ear he was still the best dog in the ring that day. So very proud of our papa!
  22. Galena Creek's Dream Keeper "Tiko" has earned Winners Dog for a 4 pt Major 8-18-2012 under breeder judge Mr. V A Harvey. Tiko just returned to the show ring after being injured in a car accident leaving the Boise Id show in 2007, and now at almost 9 years of age he just needs 1 pt for his Ch. We are beyond pleased by the progress that handler Soni Jager has made in re-conditioning him. Tiko is owned by Susan Callahan, Naomi Hinkle, and Carol Broadhurst.
