1. Story of my life right now! The top shelf keeps getting higher and higher too-
2. PeTA is so anti companion animal its not even funny. Our companions they see as our 'slaves' and we 'oppress' them into lives of sadness by being with us. PeTA has gone to dog shows to poison the dogs purely because dead is better than being a slave to humans. Take anything that they say with a grain of salt. I do not believe in animal testing at all, but I also do not believe in harming animals in the name of 'doing good' or blowing up buildings when it suits me either. Most of the animals they 'save' leave in garbage bags to be dumped in random dumpsters and landfills when their massive freezer fills up. Multiple PeTA members have been arrested dumping animal bodies in store dumpsters, animals that would have been adoptable if they had the chance. Their death rate from last year, a whopping 95%. Peta Kills Animals
3. My Petsmart training classes had a very different 'feeling' to them. Our trainer seemed to be completely against Siberians. He actually told us not to participate in classes where they would be working loose leash walking because "Siberians will never walk loose leash". He all but told us that Siberians are too dumb to train. All he wanted to do was sell us head halter leashes and other gimmicks that our boy just did not take to. I was very disappointed to say the very least, and the classes are WAAAAY over priced! After moving I found a local dog club that offered obedience classes and CGC trials for a quarter of the cost and none of the stress. Guess what, I have multiple obedient loose leash walking Siberians now thanks to them. Guess Siberians are capable of training.
4. Thank you all for the replies, venting and letting it out has really helped. Going to take a nice nap and put this mess behind me before I go to work tonight. Just got to ride this one out and see what is at the other end.
5. I'm about to burst, seriously!!! Work has been a major source of stress, to levels I can't even begin to describe! On top of the work stress issue for the past week my neighbor has been obsessing over our shared property line. Which at first was no big deal, a little odd sure but no big deal, the original property markers are in the ground from when the land was divided...but yesterday I come home to find that he and his dad had moved the property markers! I decided to go see if there was an issue or anything that needed to be discussed, since these are neighbors that in the 2 years they have lived here have not had more than 1 conversation with us, and was verbally abused and threatened. I ended up calling my husband who came home from a job to see if he could talk to them but was given the same treatment. I ended up calling the Sheriff's Office and having a deputy come out to cool them off. For the life of me I cannot figure out where this animosity is coming from!!! This is nuts and has me scared! Not sure how much more I can take right now...
6. Well at 16yrs old Drifter is one big teddy bear, he still gets around teaching all these youngsters a thing or two This may be the last litter he gets to play grandpa too He's really showing his age lately. And Tiko is just an absolute ham! Quite the personality on that boy, Starry was big and uncomfortably pregnant when I met her but she seems super sweet too.
7. Drifter is the Grandfather of this litter (Sire to Tiko) as you can see he's plush but not near woolie (the breeder suspects the grey may look a lot like him) Tiko, sire to this litter also has a very nice plush coat (I think the dark red is going to look a lot like him) My Denali at 6 weeks- he looked fluffly here too Denali at his last show, plush, appropriate coat.
8. There has not been a woolie in this line ever. No need to worry, she is most likely going to have a very nice slightly plush coat like her father and grandfather (both AKC CH/GCH) . The Dark grey is going to have a more flat coat like her mother.
9. I think still at this point it is a real toss up between the Dark Red girl (which looks like she's going to have dark eyes) and the Dark Grey girl. A few more weeks to really evaluate, the decision is going to come down to which girl has the best movement in the rear I think. Very lovely litter though! So nice to have such a good bunch to choose from
10. 3 week pics just arrived!! Dark Red Girl Medium Red Girl Light Red Masked Dark Grey Medium Red and Light Red Girls Light Red Open Face
11. I got the book as a gag gift after getting my first Siberian, actually it's a really good book I thought. There are plenty of good books out there to choose from and I always recommend this one-
12. I didn't really need to do much training with Denali, but I have heard that others have had to train them how to stack properly, stand for exam, etc. I guess I just got lucky. I have been working on proper stacking, but his free stack is pretty nice to begin with.
13. Right now yes Denali and Takoda are my show dogs, Takoda is being put up for a while he's blown coat and needs some roadwork, Denali will be going out with my handler in 2 weeks for a big show in Idaho and the Specialty in Oregon. Both shows conflict with my work schedule or I'd be going with him to handle him. This girl will be my third show dog (potential) and the foundation bitch of our (potential) breeding program.
14. Really hope she continues to develop as well as the first couple weeks have shown! I think she's going to look just like her daddy!
15. Another great weekend of showing in Yakima WA! Denali is improving each time he goes out We are both having a lot of fun and he got 1st and Reserve on both days!
16. We're getting pretty excited too!!! Can't wait to evaluate in person, she should be ready to come home mid July!
17. Hard to believe another week has gone by! Here are week 2 pics, the Dark Red is still my standout girl!! AND we have eyes open! Light Red Open Face Dark Grey Medium Red Dark Red Light Red masked
18. Well thank you very much I'm pretty partial to him also LOL
19. I don't think there is an exact answer to this...you have to go with your gut/heart on this. Personally I like things to be settled with the most recent addition before considering adding another. Denali is 18mos and it's just now we are considering adding another, I wanted Denali to be at a maturity and training level to help with the incoming youngster before taking that on. I've done the same with all of my rescues too, even the adults.
20. CH Galena Crks On Fire At Kaniska 'Ember' Owned by Naomi Smith-Hinkle and Susan Callahan took Best of Breed and a Group 1 May 20 2012 in Mt Baker and Best Of Breed May 29 2012 in Couer d'Alene. Ember is the sire to my boy Denali who also was at the Couer d'Alene and Spokane shows over the Memorial Day Weekend placing Reserve Winners Dog 3 days in a row!
21. The medium red is my 3rd choice.... but I really need to bring some color back into the line since Denali and Takoda are both dilute the girl needs to have good (preferably solid) color
22. Thanks all! I certainly hope the dark red is our girl, a couple more weeks and we'll know a bit more for sure. I'll be headed out to see them again at the end of June SOOOOOO excited! I think she's going to have a mask just like her papa's, she's going to be stunning!
