  1. Thanks! We are very excited to be expanding our show kennel! We'll have to wait and see what happens but our fingers are still crossed that the dark red girl keeps developing as well as she seems to be
  2. The 1 week old puppy pics arrived today!!! It's going to be a tough decision but still the dark red and dark grey are the standouts! Medium Red Female Light Red open face Female Dark Red Female (choice 1 for us) Dark Grey Female (choice 2) Light red female
  3. Its EMS Appreciation week, so we've been getting free food at all the hospitals, our management BBQ-ed for us yesterday, got a sweet backpack, water bottle, and mini pocket knife from our management team, one of the hospitals had thermoses for us, another had little lunch coolers, our health training network had stopwatches, face shields, pens, pins, and travel coffee mugs for us...all in all I'd say it's been a good couple of days! Oh and low call volumes help
  4. I agree, give her some adjustment time. My first two barely ate when they got home as well. I support your decision to take her in just to be absolutely sure there isn't a cause for further concern, but understand this is a huge adjustment for the little one. She just got taken away from the only family she has known, new home, no siblings, and strange humans. Good luck and I hope everything turns out to be fine
  5. That will have a lot to do with it! They use a lot of calories when they blow coat, in conjunction to being a juvenile, this is completely normal Once he's over the blowing coat he'll level out.
  6. Sounds similar to what my friend's fence is like, she used cattle panels instead of roll wire. My current fence is all cattle panels, which is being swapped out for chain link this summer. They have been working wonderfully for 3 years now, no rust, no sharp edges to worry about, sturdy enough to withstand the snow.
  7. These are beautiful! You have a wonderful talent! Thank you for sharing
  8. I have chicken wire buried beneath my current kennels with cattle panels over that. Works great, but for fencing it's really flimsy stuff, easy to bend.
  9. Ours will stretch out in the shade of the kennels, on really hot days we dampen that area frequently to keep it cooler. Access to plenty of cool water, and eventually a pool addition-
  10. Denali went through a lanky stage, no matter how much we fed him he was a noodle. Then all of a sudden his chest dropped, he filled out, and it seemed overnight we had a mature Siberian! According to our vet on our last visit he is in absolute perfect condition! Be patient and it does happen Denali is on 4 cups Taste of the Wild with a small supplement for show coat
  11. Thanks all! We're very hopeful too It's nice to have such a wonderful litter from amazing parents to choose from. Still such a long way to go, but it will be worth the wait
  12. That's what I thought too when I decided on the name Lets hope it works out that the red is our girl!

    Cup Of Tea?

I love tea! I just tried an awesome Hibiscus/Ginger tea at a cool local restaurant in Portland on my last trip, AMAZING!
  14. Due to the fact my last registered name I picked out was stolen out from under me by the last person I told I won't be sharing that until it's on her Reg document. But her call name will be Enya (meaning: 'little fire')
  15. ALL Drivers regardless of gender need to be more aware of the road and what's going on around them. I've seen both sides of this given my profession and men can be just as distracted as women when it comes to being behind the wheel.
  16. Here's a balanced opinion on the e-fence....As mentioned the Siberian Husky is not your typical hang out loyal breed and some of the major draw backs include the strong will to run and coats that aren't compatible with the e-fence collars (ie: Not feeling the correction). But it does seem you have your mind made up already, so why bother asking? I hope you find this works for you and don't end up Husky-less. http://www.siberescue.com/Common/InvisibleFence/invisiblefence.html
  17. Personally I'd have to agree with Ice&Shadow...don't trust them, never have. It's very hit and miss, more miss from what I've heard on really containing your Siberian with an e-fence. There just is no substitute for a well built fence.
  18. Thanks all! We are very excited and now that they are here time is creeping by, can't wait for my next batch of pictures! Right now our hopes are 7, 1, 2 We'll be heading back at the end of June for in person evaluation (5-6wk) and should have a set decision then!
  19. If you look at my pack (6M 3 F) you'd just assume that I prefer males...but honestly I don't have a set preference, I'm currently looking for a female to add this year
  20. There are such things as 'dry heats' and those are easy to miss unless there is an intact male around to alert you to them...but as it was mentioned unless there is any reason to worry about health she may have just been a late bloomer.
  21. My friend actually owns the sled that was used in the movie Iron Will and uses it to run her dogs now. It's such a beautiful piece of functional movie memorabilia.
  22. to the pack! Can't wait to see pictures!!
  23. When I want mine to work, they go in the harness, for walks I use a semi-slip martingale collar. Absolutely LOVE them!
  24. That is actually the girl we are really keeping our fingers crossed for! I am so excited to see how she turns out!
