  1. I got a 50' long line from a hunting/sporting store, I assume it's intended use was field training bird dogs but it works for field walking my Siberians! I like the idea of lunge line though, never thought about that one
  2. I can't imagine having more than one Siberian puppy at one time, a Siberian and an Aussie puppy were hard enough. I'm glad I waited until my first Siberian was almost 2 years until I brought the next Siberian puppy into my home. I had one rock solid trained dog to help guide the puppy to the expectations which made almost every aspect of training that much easier.
  3. Thanks everyone, I feel so much better since I blew off some steam Silly people and their silly drama anyway. It took me by complete surprise, but after really thinking about the motives I understood it, but it didn't make it right at all...it was a situation that I had nothing to do with at all. The only "wrong" I have done was having my youngest Siberian in my life and loving every minute of it.
  4. I took screen shots of the conversation so even if they deleted it I'd have hard copies...I have to learn these kind of things the hard way with keeping documents. Never really expected it from fellow dog people, yet here it is.
  5. Soo true! I'm still pretty fumed...this person is supposed to be a breeder in good standing with the SHCA and decided to attack me, a newcomer to the purebred show world, belittle my breeder, and trash talk my dog...I'm seriously considering lodging a complaint with the AKC over unethical breeder behavior.

    Grrrr....

This past week I was contacted on FB (of which I now hate FB) by someone who has an issue with one of my friends so they decided I needed to be involved with their beef....WHY do people feel it SOOOO necessary to pull you into their drama? I guess they didn't like my answers so I've now been blocked...Hey, you contacted me a complete stranger...you think I'm going to side with you over my friend?
  7. Dakota- was my first dog since the death of my childhood dog, he taught me to love again Juneau- gave me a REAL crash course in Siberian Huskies Rockie- taught me what a real friend/protector a good BIG dog could be Diamond- taught me so much about me through her trials to survive after being hit by a car and abandon by her owners Timber- taught me who my real friends were...the ones that walked away after I took on a WD weren't much of friends afterall Tikkani- taught me there are still people out there with heart Aspen- is teaching me patience with a different breed. Denali- is teaching me what BS the purebred dog world can be, but also teaching me there are still things to love about it too Riley- is teaching me where my security in the yard needs to be improved...
  8. He doesn't appear so, its hard to tell with puppies because they all have the "Einstein" look (the crazy puppy hair)...was either parent wooly?
  9. I can't believe with all the reporting against this site its still up

    dieting?

That was my most recent development as well...just this year I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism...I strongly believe it was due to the medication I was prescribed that screwed up my initial weight loss. My blood work has never been even borderline before the medication fiasco. I'm so disappointed I was looking at HCG, a lot of my co-workers are doing it with great success but their endurance has dropped as much as their waist lines I can't have that with my job. Do you find that to be your case? I'm looking for anything to help me jump start this!

    dieting?

Well, it is time I got serious about getting my life back...I've had some ups and downs in my life and it has resulted primarily in weight gain. Last year I had great success losing 60lbs, then I was prescribed a medication that put 45lbs back on...really got me down. Now we have an invite to Eukanuba and I want to look more like the old me. 11 months for a complete turn around? We'll see...
  12. Juneau and Denali used to push their bowls around, we got bowls with anti-skid bottoms to solve that problem! No one else seems to have the pushing problem.
  13. I'm a bad influence in conversations like this...I don't have 2, I have 9! A mixture of Siberians(5) and Mal-mixes(3) with an Aussie for farm work...Let me tell you I couldn't imagine my life without a single one of them...and the dynamic between the entire group is just to die for! There isn't any way to really explain it other than it was meant to be I got my first (Dakota) then waited 2 years before we got our second (Juneau)...from there it was a year before our third (Rockie) came into the pack....from there it was a bit of a break, a move into a house with acreage, dog prepping, then our 4th (Diamond) and 5th (Timber) within a year of that....our 6th (Tikaani) was two years ago, immediately after our planned Aussie came into the family, then out of circumstances Denali came into the family just months after Aspen, lastly was Riley who was found on the road looking lost and was never claimed...Mostly rescues, some planning, all happiness!
  14. How often has she had her anal glands expressed? That is often a fishy sour smell when its time.
  15. I would agree that's a Siberian Husky, anyone that tells you different is just plane silly
  16. Mine get a yearly grooming unless something happens that absolutely requires bathing. I use a good whitening dog shampoo on my lighter colors, and a darkening shampoo on my black/white. The exception to the above "rule" in my house is my show dog who gets a full grooming before each show.
  17. If the discharge is smelly or discolored (green/yellow/brown) or bloody then worry. For now it's a waiting game, perhaps in a week if all is progressing well a followup with your vet (or another)
  18. Well I hope your puppies were just being difficult...but heartbeat, from what I understand should be present/noticeable at 17-23 days. Is she having any discharge?
  19. Thank you! Our snow is melting away as we speak...it is SOOO beautiful outside though.
  20. It was only a few inches that already melted...leaving only the original hard packed....but the kids are still LOVING it!
  21. I like a good Med-Rare for my steak....now I'm thinking about Steak!!
  22. Lord knows I tried, figured it must be I just didn't get Labradors! I'm obviously Siberian equipped LOL, not necessarily other breed savvy! I keep in contact with them, wonderful people, and she is their only focus vs my 9 pack...it is better for everyone, but I keep hoping one of these days they will call me and say "We finally figured it out!", fingers crossed everyday for that.
