  1. Thank you! It was just such a clear perfect day they were all feeling good and happy
  2. LOL oh miss Juneau was soaking up the sun, it's been hiding the past few days and she wanted to soak up as much as she could today
  3. I use a reputable pet/house sitter when we are away. Of course with 9 dogs, 3 cats, 2 horses boarding is out of the question LOL. I happily report not a single issue and she calls me daily to let me know everyone is ok.
  4. Diamond is a GSD x Husky also! She's just the greatest puppy ever She had a rough start to life with a non-qualified husky home, but is thriving today. She is 100% a people pleaser, whenever we have people come over she HAS to be in the center of attention! The only down side of the mix is being white and blue-eyed she ended up being deaf from birth.
  5. Its so TRUE!! I love seeing other Siberian owners out and about They are always so nice to chat with and want to interact with your dogs...a lot of "other" dog owners want to steer clear of my Siberians
  6. Juneau hiding under me- Real mommy's girl today Dakota, still handsome 8yrs old Show me your Woooo face! Ahh, sun! Diamond Nice stand Diamond and Riley, the chase is on! Pretty Juneau (Diamond and Tikaani in the background)
  7. Our first we chose a common Siberian Husky name, Dakota Juneau, also a common Siberian Husky name Diamond came to us as "Pink Diamond" which was just too silly, but she is a Diamond in the Rough so Diamond stayed Denali is actually Kaniska's Ashen Hotshot (which is the nick name for the wild-land firefighting crew in Denali Na't park) Non Siberians- Rockie came as such from the shelter Timber came to us being called Timber-wolf so we shortened it Riley just looked like a Riley (if ya know what I mean!) Aspen just seemed to fit our Aussie. Tikaani is a Low Content WD and Tikaani means wolf.
  8. It never ceases to amaze me how lazy people are...I was recently at Petsmart and lost count of how many left pee puddles and a couple piles of poop there were. I watched one guy let his dog poop and then walk away. When I asked him about it, he just shrugged and said dogs will be dogs. PICK UP AFTER YOURS!!!
  9. Words cannot express the depth of sadness felt when we lose someone so young. Prayers that her family finds solace and may little Katy be running free with our fur babies free of the suffering she knew in this world.
  10. Oh they had so much fun! Weather man says it's on it's way...but I don't believe it anymore They had so much fun and slept HARD that night! Ahh I miss good winters
  11. Great post Sutsibe! I have not dealt with this kind of problem here, but I know it lurks in forums everywhere.
  12. We haven't had a winter like this in a couple years and it bums us out...but the kids sure did enjoy it!
  13. You know I had thought about sending them a recent picture of her and kinda rub their noses in it...but that would be mean LOL, not that they don't deserve it! Thank you though, she's a miracle
  14. Too cool!!! Really excited for you and your pack Can't wait to hear all about her as she grows here!
  15. Aww I'm sorry You could come play with us in Spokane!
  16. I would suspect it's related to her heat cycle, but wanted to add my blood in urine experience from my boy Dakota...we had been on Merrick food for almost a year, a food that our boy was FINALLY excited about. He has been the pickiest of picky Siberians I swear....anyway one snowy morning I noticed blood where he had just pee'd, took him to the vet, they did a urine sample through a catheter and found crystals in his urine. After an ultrasound they found his bladder was full of crystals! The food had made his body Ph too basic and his urine crystallized. Some food for diabetic dogs raised his Ph, crystals cleared out without complication...switched food and never had an issue again. Good luck and hopefully easy solution to your situation
  17. I had posted her story here when I first joined: http://www.husky-owners.com/forum/threads/diamond-in-the-ruff.34437/page-2#post-549272 But I think the photos say it all sometimes
  18. It was, her first owners weren't exactly Siberian "qualified"...let their deaf dog roam free while they were away. Our vet feels the only thing that saved her life was she must have seen the car last second and looked away...only her front legs really got it. She also had a small fracture in her right rear femur and 2 lower back fractures. Can you even tell these days?
  19. Poor baby! Even with an injury she's still got a beautiful face Someone will scoop her up no doubt!
  20. What a shame that her original family didn't deem her worth saving. There loss! LOL
  21. I had to muzzle our Diamond while her feet healed, she could wiggle her feet up into the collar and chew off the bandages. She didn't seem to mind and we gave her plenty of time out of the muzzle while we could watch her.
