  1. Mine is a special case because he acts happy and excited when he sees other puppies (mines 3 months) but as soon as they get close and either approach/sniff him his tail goes down and he runs away and even barks at them. I don't understand him. HELP?
  2. umm leaned all the way back sorta like a cat when they are scared but his butt raised high tail up and growling
  3. see the thing is that ive been doing that for 3 weeks and he doesnt mind it of course he does start eating faster but he does growl (tense up a bit maybe) but no signs of aggression and i make him sit and give me his paw a couple of time before i put it down. I just want to gain his trust and allow him to be comfortable around me
  4. Ok, i have had my puppy for 3 weeks now. At feeding time i train him and he has learned sit and give paw fluently. I usually feed him off my hands. Why? i want to prevent food aggression and when i do put his food on the bowl my hand is in it just moving around. Today i put his food on the bowl and was moving around my fingers i then put my hand to stroke his lower jaw he went into fight mode (a 3 month puppy btw) and was growling and by that i mean he curled his lips and went low tail straight up i reacted sort of out of fear and surprise and i pushed his mouth off the bowl with my leg. I am thinking of not skipping this meal to show him that what he did is NOT okay. Any other suggestion on effective methods for food aggressive puppy? HELP!!
  5. I wake up at 6 am. feed/train/play with my puppy until 6:45. I leave him in his play pen and then leave for school. I come back at 2 and feed him then play with him for an hour. I put him back in the play pen until 5 pm then i take him to the park or a walk around the block. I comeback and put him in the play pen again until 9 where i feed him/train him and then he goes to sleep. Am i spending enough time with him. I could spend more time with him outside of his pen and around my house but he pees/poops whenever he gets a chances (i try to predict when he starts smelling around and take him to his peeing/pooping area but he doesnt do it. And thats why most of his time is spent in the play pen or outside walking because my house would smell and be covered in poop otherwise. So am i spending enough time with him and what should i do about the pooping/peeing?
  6. Yes, Yes and don't remember. I will take a look. Thanks
  7. i should have done that, but the pit owner did try to calm the pit down but he was like running straight through my puppy and i won't go near any hyper dogs from now on until my pup is well socialized
  8. any advice for this thread? http://www.husky-owners.com/forum/threads/puppy-aggressive-to-dog.38568/#post-608437
  9. Ok today my puppy met the first dog and by meeting i mean that the dog was trying to play with him. I want to point out that he was a pitbull but one of the best dogs not only appearance wise but very well behaved. Ok he came close to my dog and mine was going toward him. As soon as the pit started running towards him mine got so scared he was running away from him, then at a tree the pit cornered him (i was terrified i thought the pit would kill him) but not the pit was just smelling him and his tail was wagging as happy as ever but my puppy was barking and curling his lips up and he did try to bite him but the pit didn't mind so my puppy ran and he ran then i decided it was game over because i could tell my pup was stressed out. Is this aggression or was it just because it was his first encounter with another Older dog? P.S. The pit was 7 months but he was huge. I love pits <3 after huskies of course.
  10. its not the actual bite that bothers me its the constant biting everything in sight and i have tried different bite inhibition methods but still no improvement and thats whats getting me down.
  11. haha i am into mw3 and xbox but my puppy comes first and i havent touched it in a week because of my puppy and i dont really mind. Yes my mom has helped me with cleaning up and my dad has helped me more with the behaviour side. I am committed to my pup but i feel like all the work im putting in is not being rewarded and thats whats getting me down
  12. yeah you are right you must be very mature well i am only a 16 year old so yo can imagine hahaahha no i would never reach the end of the rope with this guy ive fallen in love with him as soon as he is potty trained hes sleeping with me
