  1. It's never an easy decision to make as life is never easy. We all wish our dogs could live happily and healthily forever with us, but sadly this is not the case. Our dogs impact our lives just as much as we impact theirs. Dogs are the proverbial mirror of their owners. So may your two rest in peace... I'm sure they're in a better place and have left an equally positive impact upon your life
  2. Thank you for the kind words. Our family is dealing with this tragic loss day-by-day. Ruby is in a better place
  3. [quote name='"saintlysinner , post: 593354, member: 7513"']am so sorry for your loss...hardest decision no doubt and heartfelt love and wishes go out to you xxx
  4. Just last Wednesday I was faced with the decision to put my 8 week old puppy on a respirator or have her put down. Her odds of survival were less than 50%, and even if she did survive, her brain injury would've likely left her unhappy/distant/unhealthy/etc. I didn't want the poor thing to suffer any longer so I thought it was the best decision to have her put out of her misery. It was a gut-wrenching decision. But at least I know my poor puppy is in a better place
  5. ‎"Some birds aren't meant to be caged, their feathers are just too bright". May your beautiful and innocent soul fly away to where it's meant to be. May we reunite in a future time and place... A time and place of peace. Many souls receive the fates that they deserve, while very few receive the life that they deserved. You were taken from this earth too soon... May you live eternally and rest in peace. I love you Ruby. Reading everybody's posts and writing what I just wrote above is really helping me on my way to finding solace. Thank you everybody. I'm sure Ruby appreciates your wishes
  6. The wounds don't look bad enough to require stitches. But it'd probably be best to go to the vet to get antibiotics in order to avoid an infection. Don't risk letting those wounds turn into something drastic. Zoey will most likely be fine, but definitely get a vet's opinion!
  7. Thanks for the support everybody, it really means a lot. Ruby was a young and innocent soul, who in no way deserved the fate she received. She will be dearly missed. I don't know why this tragic, freak accident had to happen. It still pains me to see her little toys and the things she used to play with and chew on around the house. I have a void in my heart right now due to this great loss and I don't know when, or if ever I can get over this. I just wish this could've never happened to that poor puppy.
  8. I have some extremely tragic news... Yesterday Ruby was playing outside and ran into the path of an oncoming baseball. She suffered obvious head-trauma and shortly went unconscious. We rushed her to the animal E.R. and the veterinarian said she had obvious brain swelling and that her chances of survival were 50/50, but sadly she stopped breathing around 1:40 p.m. cst today. I decided the best thing to do was to have her put out of her misery. Please pray for Ruby and our family. We are extremely distraught. Ruby was doing so great with our family. I don't know what to do right now. I cried all last night praying for her but sadly she lost her life. She didn't deserve this.... She had her whole life in front of her and now she's gone.... R.I.P. Ruby... I'm sorry you had to suffer like this, I love you... :''''(
  9. Well, she surely is a gorgeous little shitbag lol My girl's 2nd name is knucklehead, but under certain circumstances, I've called her worse lol I realized over the past few years that I don't even need an alarm clock-My girl wakes me up every morning with some nice, sloppy licks to the face:facepalm: Ornery yet so lovable... This is why I love Huskies.
  10. Thanks for the great compliments everybody I'll try to keep everybody updated with new pictures of her every couple of weeks
  11. I've been working more with her over the past few days and she's been making progress. We're still in the early stages of working out her behavior kinks at the park, but we're definitely headed in the right direction
  12. Thanks Gemstone names just seem to fit the Husky breed so very well lol
  13. She's 8 weeks old and acclimating great to the new house. She's particularly fond of my 6-year old Siberian Husky/Australian Shepard crossbreed named Sapphire. The puppy's name is Ruby. Here's some pictures of our newest member of the family:) :
  14. Thanks Ravenwolf, you're probably right. Occasionally I'll walk her elsewhere on various nature trails and she behaves completely different as compared to the dog park. And yes, she loves playing fetch
