Yeah I've been thinking of some type of restraint we don't have a lot of options here in the us though because they're not popular surprisingly. I don't think you're nagging at all!

As Becky has said, before getting a husky (or any dog for that matter) make sure you can afford it. Sure, it might be cheaper to feed your dog a lower quality dog food... but in my personal opinion why would you want to? im not judging people who do but i want my Luka to have GOOD quality food. that doesn't mean i have to buy the most expensive but it does mean i read articles and got other opinions on what was the right food for my boy. I've been feeding Luka TOTW and may have to actually change foods due to him being kinda scrawny but i can promise you it won't be anything like purina. Different dogs thrive on different foods but my vet never recommends foods like kibbles and bits. I'm not trying to be offensive or rude in any way. This is strictly my opinion. I can honestly say i knew nothing about dog food until my parents got their lab and started feeding him Fromms.

thanks yall! but i mean who could blame me? he was crying and don't get me wrong i love my job but he was more important. def an animal person. i spotted 2 dogs i wanted to take home LOL. the boyfriend told me to leave ALONE. lolol

i had a lady last night at my second job (waiting tables) inform me that her vet told her to breed her husky with a wolf. because that's so cool and everything! (sarcasm) and then she proceeded to ask me if my husky was a girl. i politely informed her he was all boy and she was very disappointed. as if even if i had a girl i would breed with someone so inexperienced or even at all! i wanted to smack her in the face for being such a moron but there would go my tip.

welcome to husky owners! i also crate my Luka along with the majority of other members! i prefer to have him cuddle in my bed at night but while im at work he plays in his crate. Don't worry about anyone judging you! Everyone has different training methods that work for them! Your furbabies are beautiful! They look like a lot of fun!

She said he's so cute and young (9 weeks) that if he gets healthy he will be adopted fast probably. I can only hope.

So I pull up to work this morning and a girl i work with is on her knees looking under a car. I out of curiosity go over and ask her what she's doing. She tells me there is a kitten with a broken leg under the car and she was trying to get it out. We decide on trying to get it out together. She started clapping her hands and i grabbed the kitten when it scooted back. Our boss (animal lover) told us to go ahead and get it the help it needed. We headed off to the animal shelter because we had no other choice. I'm deathly allergic (i have asthma attacks from cats) and i was already sneezing so the poor little guy had to go somewhere. We got to the shelter around 8:45 this morning and they didn't open till 10am. We decided to wait because one of the employees told us she was almost positive they would take him. Around 9:50am they let us in. They checked him out, he has a large absess on his little broken leg. He also has upper respiratory problems, which we all know is NOT good. The girl there (the one we saw earlier) immediately said they were taking him. She told us their vet was off for the next two days so she was going to have to take him straight to the vet because he needed help now. They asked us to name him and we went with "Cruiser" because we found him under a PT Cruiser. I'm not a cat person by any means but this little guy about broke my heart. I hope he manages to make it through.

I considered the rice but I've been told on here that it won't help Long term.

literally i can only feed him 2 cups per day or he's got the runs. i try to give him a few extra treats but doesn't seem to be helping.

this stresses me out even more. Luka def fits in the "thin" category. lol but very good post!

if i knew the specifics of raw feeding i would do it but i'm too uneducated.

Orijen is a great food but it is not well price anywhere where i'm at. And before you go thinking im cheap i don't mind paying $50.00 for a bag of food, but its around $70.00 here and that's slightly crazy. Taste of the Wild may not be the best but it is highly rated and affordable. Unfortunately for me, I've been feeding Luka TOTW and if i feed him anymore than 2 cups he gets sick. I also feel like he's steadily getting slimmer. I may have to change foods. I've been thinking about Fromms.

Luka was on purina puppy chow when i picked him up. I fed him it for a week while he was settling in because I didn't want to stress him out even more. After that week i started to transition his food. For two days I gave him 25% new food, 75% old food, 2 days after that 50%, 50%, 2 days after that 75% new food, 25% old food. After that I gave him 100% Taste of the Wild and he had no belly problems. Purina won't cause them harm but it's not a good choice for food for them. I personally wanted a grain-free and something holistic.

I could never get rid of luka. He's not only my dog, he's my best friend. Getting him has completely changed my life And it makes me tear up even thinking about having to let him go. I agree situations differ but I'd do whatever it takes to keep him.

I've decided when we move we're adopting. Luka will be about 6 months but I don't want to introduce two grown dogs. I'm excited because my family will be complete! (well until I decide on another hahah)

This is so helpful I'm having so many issues with luka. He goes all night without pottying I think I'll start taking him out every hour from now on.

No rules lol he sleeps in the bed whenever he wants lol. Ill be asking permission when he's older I'm sure
