  1. what age did your sibe's eyes stop changing colors? Luka's mommy has beautiful warm, brown eyes and his dad has pretty ice blue eyes. when we saw pictures from the breeder we noticed his eyes were dark blue. from what i've heard this means they were going to turn brown. correct me if i'm wrong. i'm including a picture of what exactly i mean. well he's nine weeks old now and the edges of his eyes have stayed greenish/brown. but the centers have changed to lighter blue. (more like ice blue) so now i have no idea what color they're going to be!? lol it doesn't matter to me either way, i'm just dying of curiosity. ill have to upload a pic of his eyes now, so you can see what i mean. it's hard to get him still enough to get a pic of his eyes.
  2. i do this too, lately though, since i've FINALLY gotten luka's portions right there hasn't been any left.
  3. cats won't generally eat and eat and eat. dogs will. not to mention, huskies don't need as many calories as other breeds. it would not be in your best interest to leave food laying out all day. my parents have a lab and they even schedule his feedings . when we had our first dog (a golden retriever) not as much was known regarding pet nutrition and my parents left food out for him all day. he wound up being overweight. overweight doggy = not happy doggy. being overweight can put extra pressure on their joints, and big dogs already have more joint issues than smaller breeds in the first place. i don't mean this to be rude at all, but you shouldn't really be thinking of the "easier" way to do things. if you don't think you have time to feed your dog at his/her scheduled feedings, then you probably shouldn't be getting one anytime soon, at least not until you have more time. also, in regards to what you've done with your other dogs in the past, i'm sure you know this by now but a husky isn't like other dogs in regards to blue buffalo, i don't know much about it, after reading everyone's reviews on here, i decided to feed luka taste of the wild. it's grain free, pretty affordable, and he loves it!
  4. ahhh okay! explains everything! thank you so much!
  5. new observation! Luka is TERRIFIED of the hair dryer. look at him hiding... hahahah i shouldnt laugh but it's just so funny/cute i'm a mean mommy
  6. i know but what i'm saying is i had likes between may 5th and may 14th and they are not there AT ALL. i'm not terribly worried about it, just curious.
  7. this just breaks my heart. wish i was closer, i'd take one of these babies in.
  8. oh wow i just looked at the dates. fail. but that means the likes since the new forum switch are missing?
  9. i would be suspicious like others. It's one thing for a sibe to just randomly be born small, but to set out with the general purpose of breeding "mini" sibes i just find that risky. i would be concerned about health problems? not trying to be rude, i just don't see the point in buying a little husky. i bought my husky because he will be BIG and beautiful.
  10. thats the best one ive seen yet! ahhhh and im hungry. guess ill dig out a granola bar out of my desk and sit here unsatisfied.
  11. when i look to see who liked what comments i have written this shows up.... i'm confused.... haha
  12. Luka already fetches a tennis ball and he's still a wittle baby. I just throw it and he brings it back. it's one of his favorite ways to play. well, until he gets bored with it and decides my arm looks more fun.
  13. i understand! i'm in my apartment with a roommate for one more month! then finally in a house with a fenced in backyard! can NOT wait!
  14. yeah i would never leave luka's food out all day. he gobbles it down pretty fast and he would be overweight if i just left it out. also you should seriously consider crate training atleast when your husky is a puppy, they get into EVERYTHING. and unless you're going to be watching him/her 24/7 you'll need some way to contain them. besides Luka loves his crate, half the time he goes in there and lays down by himself.
  15. if my luka is just absolutely disgusting, i give him a bath anyways. but if he's not THAT dirty, i invested in some spritzer from my local pet supply store which sanitizes him and makes him smell good. (i like the coconut-lime scent) that way i'm not constantly bathing him. this is what i use... they have multiple scents.... http://pawnaturals.com/pet-grooming-1/spritz-wipes/nootie-dog-spritzer.html
  16. don't be jealous! he barks all the time! and howls! i never catch a break!
  17. haha thats crazy! yeah the breeder gave me that red toy when i got Luka, he loves that thing.
  18. ive had it for a few months. i love it!
  19. Luka and I are on our way to help protect America's sweets. He may be 9 weeks but he's got a mean bite with the puppy teeth!! Beware !
  20. i would love to let luka have run of the house one day! we are FAR AWAY from that point though
  21. because of how beautiful they are people just want them without realizing the time, effort, and dedication you have to give them. i can't tell you how many people have been asking me what breeder i got Luka from. Is it completely rude of me to not tell them?
