Unfortunately, Lil Bit (buddy's friend) the other husky rescued by Shay passed away last night. He was a pretty solid white boy. Always sad to see a pet go, exp. after undergoing so much treatment.

i wasn't hating on the entire state of New Jersey just the people that live there that do act like the cast of Jersey shore. It's all in good fun, people in the north have made PLENTY of comments about how people in the south are all rednecks and stupid, but i know that's not true.

i really don't think it's a big deal. it's not constant and i know he drinks plenty of water. from how much he pees on everything (we're still pottytraining ) he's definitely well hydrated. As long as you know he's in a decent temperature i think you shouldn't worry. Luka doesn't look uncomfortable he just happily pants sometimes for no reason.

thanks ella! i will start leaving the room. i usually try to give him toys (sometimes that works) but when he's determined he wants to play like that he doesn't give up. He's starting to do it to anyone that enters my house and i don't want that!

luka will be stretched out on my bed with the AC blasting and will be full on panting. he doesn't act like he's hot or anything.

luka is constantly pushing his dominance. he is also REALLY testing my patience. i even turned my back to him like someone else recommended, instead of leaving me alone my back was attacked. lol he's very lucky he's so stinking cute. but seriously i do not wish to be his personal chew toy anymore and i want to end this before it goes on too long. I really think i have my hands full with this one lol. don't even get me started on potty training...

i leave the room and luka attacks my feet. ignoring him makes him keep it up even more. my arm is seriously scratched up from his teeth. any other ideas?

also i live in memphis, basically and we have HORRIBLE humidity and heat. (it was 91 yesterday) Luka is fine. i take him out during the early morning and evening and we chill in the ac during the day. just be smart.

i researched for months before i got Luka, i've had him for a week, and i still feel like i don't know what im doing half the time. I've owned dogs my entire life, but i can promise you huskies are NOTHING like other dogs. Luka is a little over 8 weeks and he is already the most independent dog i've ever seen. He does not like to follow my rules. that being said they are sweet, loveable, and the best cuddlers ever! I just think you should really research before you bring a husky home or you will be severely overwhelmed. With huskies you do learn by trying but you also need to have some general knowledge. i don't recommend anyone try "winging it"!

i'm aware of the risks of tanning yet i still do it. HOWEVER, there is no reason to take tanning to that extent. if you wish to be that dark that is what spray tans are for. i doubt she took her kid to tan though. First off, getting a sunburn from a tanning bed is completely different than one from outside. A sunburn from outside is way more severe and can blister. You would have to lay in a tanning bed for more than the maximum time to achieve that type of burn and that is just not possible. also... anyone else notice she's from New Jersey? surprise... haha

taste of the wild or orijen. I personally go with taste of the wild because it is still a really good food and it's a lot cheaper than orijen. my vet told me last week he's supposed to promote science diet but he's not that impressed with it. i also like to have my dog on a grain-free food.

the breeder i got Luka from had two litters for the year and the first litter had a beautiful little piebald puppy. I was really close to getting him instead but i decided to wait awhile and fell in love with Luka instead. Luka is going to be "wolf grey" it seems. He has a lot of tan/beige coloring to him. I picked him out for that exact reason. He looks like a little wolf. haha and he acts like one too. Teething stage is wearing me out!!!
