i wouldn't worry too much about it. If Nikko is as spoiled as Luka is (and i imagine he is haha) then he will eventually get over it. luka purposely pushes bexley out of the way to walk by me but they actually want to play together now. it's gotten better just over a week.

oh i've already accepted the fact that i won't be able to understand. i live in the south which means we talk SLOW. even sarah talks fast on the phone. lol just be ready for a lot of confused staring. my accent won't go unnoticed though lol i assure you. But accents over there are much cooler than mine

Having two was a walk in the park exp. because Knox was a puppy! fostering is hard because not only are you adding three but they usually don't have a long time with you so by the time they adjust they leave! lol but it's worth it. however, i think i'm in love with my current foster. it's going smoothly so far, however he is food aggressive and treat aggressive. he apparently guarded water too before I had him but he doesn't do that with mine. He occasionally shows his teeth to Luka if he gets in his face but then again Luka is obnoxious and isn't the best at understanding social cues. lol

Totally off topic since he's a different breed but still wanted to post. Yesterday we went to the dog park, mind you I take mine like once or twice a week and we like never have issues. Luka isn't a dominant dog so he is never involved in anything and Knox is still a baby. Well, yesterday this guy had his husky puppy (i'd say around 4-6 months old) there and she was playing with Luka for awhile. Then she walked over to me and licked my hand and i was petting her and Knox went nuts!!! He was trying to attack her but luckily I grabbed his harness and held on to him. I thought maybe it was just a random incident but if the puppy even attempted to come near me he went crazy! As an owner of a bully breed I have more pressure on me than others to present a positive image. This was obviously not happening so we left. I have NO idea what happened. He's never EVER been aggressive. He loves other dogs, plays with Luka 24/7, and has been socialized from day one. I am going to start working on recall training so he will come to me if an altercation takes place. I also think maybe he was guarding me? So i'm going to work on training against resource guarding. Any other training suggestions? Besides obviously avoiding the dog park for a few weeks. Oh and i forgot to clarify he's around like 6 months maybe? and he gets neutered Friday so I know that will help as well.

Luka loves one of the vet techs who happens to be our vet's wife. last time we went by he peed everywhere because he was so excited! lol including on her leg!

YAY! i'm sure it'll work out. When i foster i let them have it out a little at first, just watch and make sure it doesn't get out of hand.

i crate mine as Luka used to swallow socks. i trust him now but i figure he would just find something else to destroy

can't help you there. Luka has been neutered since he was 7 months old. he doesn't mark anything. He used to squat to pee but ever since we had a female foster dog he lifts his leg. LOL she made him a man!

what do you mean by hot? it stays about in the upper 80's (F) to the upper 90s (F) here in the summer. it was 81F yesterday. Add the high humidity rate and it's almost unbearable.

of course. as silly as it may sound to some, i would willingly put myself at risk to save Luka.

very true. they are all different. labs are much easier to train though. and now cody is just like a giant bear who wants to walk around getting attention. lol

my parents own an exception. that dog was insanely hyper. he's chilled out now that hes 3 years old but the first 2 years were a NIGHTMARE! and Labs def. need a substantial amount of exercise

Great Danes are also major couch potatoes but they have a shorter life span

Suggestions for clothing? what's the weather like there? I can't exactly tell this far away lol
