yeah they do act very different! all the ones i've met have way different personalities than my Luka. love them though, they're beautiful giants lol

lol i plan to. any suggestions? we focus mostly on huskies but we've had plenty of malamutes as well. they actually get adopted faster we've noticed

not all male dogs are like that. my luka is a weirdo. i have NEVER seen his. knox on the other hand lets it all hang out lol

i've had someone argue with me over if Luka is part wolf. I told him he wasn't and he was like are you sure? uhmmm YES. do you have papers? uhmm yes. and even if i didn't he's not a dang wolf!!

I know this thread has kinda been started before but basically I'm working on a pamphlet to pass out at an adoption event this weekend for possible owners. What would you tell someone interested in northern breeds with no experience? Maybe something you wish you were told? Also, it can't be condescending as its to help educate and get more dogs adopted into forever homes not scare people off lol! Thanks!

if you figure out a way to stop let me know haha my backyard is a mud pit. Luka has sweetly shown Knox how to dig as well so now i don't know which one of them is worse.

from personal experience unless you're working with a rescue and pulling the dog from the shelter they're are not going to want to make the adoption process any more difficult. The Humane Society might be different, as we usually only pull from kill-shelters. Sadly, many huskies wind up being BACK at the shelter due to bad owners or just owners with inexperience. i'd say the best thing you could do (if they refuse, which they might) is to EDUCATE. cross post dogs on facebook (if you have one) and make yourself available to give information, whether it be your own personal struggles with Balto, training tips, etc. Some people will listen, some won't but it does help.
