nobody hates you lol they just don't have to agree with you. i don't think the point people are trying to make is that we love non-registered pets less than dogs with papers. I have a dog who i have no idea what he is except for sure pitbull but that doesn't make me not love him like Luka. Most of us here just don't agree with breeding EXCEPT for experienced, registered breeders.

just to add you might be a great pet owner but sometimes it helps weed out the bad ones just like the adoption fee does.

most shelters don't even have requirements. it's more rescue groups and yet again they're the ones who have put lots of money, time, and care into these dogs. It's a safety issue and if they make the exception with you than they have to everytime and one of their dogs could easily be injured. I have lots of friends who are involved in rescue and I've had it explained to me.

sounds like an accidental breeding. i wouldn't condemn the man who seems like he obviously cares about the puppies. he also seems responsible in that he plans on spaying his bitch. As for rescues, you can't really blame them. No offense to you what so ever, i'm sure your puppy is living in a great home but a fence is not an impractical request. Huskies can't be trusted off lead and most rescues know that. That's half the reason some of those dogs are in rescues. They've been trusted and then ran away. When you rescue a dog your worst fear is that it will wind up back in the situation you found it in. I know when i found knox and his sisters i was extremely picky who i let adopt the other two. I had multiple friends message me but i didn't feel they were suitable owners. All of our local rescues (not just the husky one) require fenced in backyards. It's for the protection of their dogs.

Not only do they only care about the money, they don't care who their puppies end up with. This really directly affects the rate of dogs in shelters because byb allow irresponsible owners to purchase and the dogs wind up in shelters.

I'm doing fine but no where near where I want to be. I was fortunate to grow up with wealthy parents but yet they still made me work for everything I wanted. I didn't get a brand new vehicle when I turned 16 but I am fortunate by the fact that I got a gently used SUV instead. My boyfriend and I are currently renting because we want to save up a nice down payment for buying a house. I bought a new car last July and im pretty proud of it. The cost of living isn't high here as I'm in the south but its not dirt cheap either. I have a full time job with benefits and salary which I can support myself and Josh is an electrician so he makes pretty good money as well. We're both young so we have strong futures ahead of us. I plan on finally finishing my degree this year and then going to grad school for a masters in something haha. I also work at a restaurant part time for extra cash (I like to shop lol) but I by no means need it. I'm actually quitting in March because I want my FULL weekend and I'm jealous that josh gets to spoil the puppies while I'm there.

very true. Luckily i found Knox and his sisters before they wound up in the wrong hands. Some idiot dumped them off at a gas station on a a cold and rainy night. Poor Babies were stuck in a box and couldn't find cover. And that is how i got my little Knox aka Luka's bestfriend.

i've taught the neighborhood kids what type of dog i have. LOL i heard the little boy (who's the leader of the group) telling the other kids when they walked by our house that we had a siberian husky and a black dog. LOL poor Knox! hahaha

i have a rescued pitbull and he is the sweetest thing ever. i really didn't know too much about the breed before him except that they were misunderstood. Now, i can't believe what i was missing out on! eventually i would like to also add another husky to my pack who will also be rescued. rescues are the best.

I follow Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary and they help rescue and rehome hybrids. Like huskies, people purchase them and have no idea what they're doing. But usually, it's even worse as they are still part wild. Wolves are not meant to be pets, they are wild animals and I think they should be left that way instead of being bred with household pets to give someone a unique looking pet. Also, According to this website: http://www.sos.mo.gov/adrules/csr/current/3csr/3c10-9.pdf Missouri does in fact require a permit for any wolf hybrid not to mention very specific regulations regarding their enclosures. Just something you might want to read up on before deciding to add one.

such a beautiful story. it was hard when my family lost our family dog, Houston. He was a beautiful golden retriever and my first dog. i still miss him. one of my favorite quotes: "If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went."

I heard about that. Okay for one who is to say the husky was even actually dog aggressive? Maybe it saw her small French bulldog as prey? I don't see any other owners around her area claiming their dog was attacked? Bottom line she's a complete moron and i couldn't bare to watch that show with her annoying voice.
