I would like to Add that Luka doesn't pull and never has. Whether this be from a non pull harness or not he doesn't.

It doesn't really seem like play though more like he's trying to dominate him. Luka gets mad when he does it and I just don't want it to escalate into a fight.

Luka wore a harness from 12 weeks on. i don't like using a collar, so i started out with a harness. i just donate my small ones to the local shelter as i move up sizes. ha

i travel their occasionally to see friends/family

we've had tons of gsd foster dogs in the rescue. my roommate just also adopted a cross. 1. I know they shed heavily, and I really don't mind the fur, but do they shed more or less than a husky? shed less than a husky from what i've seen. 2. My neighbor's GSD barks every time someone walk past his home--even when he's being crated! Do they all do this? Is it a natural behavior or do they need to be trained to do that? depends on how they have been socialized. many i see at the shelters flip out barking when you walk by, now keep in mind a shelter isn't a good environment to judge a dog in the first place but they are prone to guarding their owners and other dogs. we've had many behavior issues with this breed foster wise. however, i do have a friend who has a GSD, his name is Whiskey, and i've never heard him bark. 3. Sadly this is a breed prone to a ton of health problems is there any way to prevent them from getting any of these health problems? Like, for example, grain-free dog food? The health problems are in relation to being over-bred IMO, either buy from a GOOD breeder or rescue and do frequent vet visits. 4. I'm a terrible runner, so I need a dog that would be fine by doing a long slow-paced walk only. The walks would be at least 60 minutes long and I'm gonna walk them twice a day. Do you think that's enough exercise for this breed? This breed would be fine getting the same amount of exercise you give Diamond. 5. I know they're a one-man dog and wary of strangers, but how do they get along with other dogs? Are they also wary of strange dogs? They can guard their owners and other dogs. Socialize them at an early age and you can avoid this issue.

well Luka is neutered so he's not really a fan.... lol

lol... Tahoe seems to back off after Luka snarls in his face but it's like how many times is he going to try this? haha

I'm not really big on the whole "alpha" order. I expect my dogs to do something when i ask them to do it but for the most part they roam free. They do know when I'm being serious about something and know immediately when they've done something naughty. But at the end of the day, they cuddle me, lick me, and love me and that's all i really want from them.

Okay things are going fine between everyone. Mind you this is the most dogs I've ever had at one time (4). Tahoe will not stop trying to mount Luka. He just doesn't give up, he does it alllllll the time, any chance he gets. Luka is NOT having it. he whips around and snarls at him and Tahoe will back off. but then 5 minutes later tries it again. Is this something I just need to let them work out on their own? I do realize that Tahoe is 2-3 and just was neutered a week ago so that could come into play. He's not a dominant dog at all though, very submissive. I just can't tell if he's trying to see if he's above Luka in the pack order. The weird thing is he hasn't done it to Knox once. He leaves him alone. He tried doing it to Zoey 2 times and she about got him so he has left her alone hahahahah. Suggestions?

i just bribe mine with treats. he only half the time listens now. lol knox listens every time. he is my wonder dog yet usually the one who has something naughty in his mouth. luckily he's a pittie and follows orders better. haha

i've been wanting a red. but i should probably get a husband first before i wind up alone forever with 3 dogs. hahahaha

usually all the dogs we pull are like the easiest dogs ever, better behaved than mine so i don't get it. he was going to be euthanized today if we didn't take him. he's so sweet and LOUD lol

New foster i pick up tomorrow..... i still have Zoey too lol So it's a full house the next couple of weeks I haven't named him yet
