hi guys! sorry i haven't been as active as usual. I've been really busy this week! i know we're all animal lovers so i thought i'd share my story. Tuesday morning I signed on facebook and my friend Sarah had posted a picture. I looked at it and realized it was a local boy from our town and I was automatically horrified. (I don't know if it's appropriate to post on here so i won't) He had shot a dog and taken a picture with it and then uploaded it on Facebook. Automatically I start commenting on it. Sarah had already called the ASPCA and given them information. I decided it deserved at least local attention so i posted it on our local news website. IT BLEW UP. The picture has around 908 likes of people agreeing that justice should be served. Also, around 2,000 comments of people bantering on it. The news station did a report of it Tuesday night and I was asked to give my statement. My name isn't mentioned but I basically said he was holding the poor animal like a trophy of some sort. He's claiming it attacked him and it was a wild dog. This is AFTER his first two stories have been said. First, he was hunting and the dog was on his land so he shot it or it would have scared off all the deer. Secondly, it was then claimed he thought it was a pitbull and shot it to protect himself. Now he has his new story. Whatever the case it isn't okay and I'm not sorry I posted it. He put it online and therefore it's his fault. Authorities are investigating. Most people seem to agree with me but his brother has threatened me. I've contacted the law. ANyways that's where i've been.... i have microchipped Luka and Knox will be getting chipped soon as well. It cost me about 50 dollars and then after a year there's a monthly or yearly fee. i didn't realize that at first but i don't care i'll still pay for it. lol you never know what could happen.

we worked on leave it and drop it while Luka was on lead. Another tip [MENTION=7701]Tatipu[/MENTION] would be to line up toys and on a short lead walk up and down the line while going over leave it and drop it. We also would take a treat in each hand and hold one of the hands down for him to smell. Luka would try to get it out of my hand and i would say Leave it. When he would stop and leave it alone i woudl hand him the treat that was in my OTHER hand. I said Take it when i handed him this one. Now i can drop a treat on the ground and say leave it and he won't get it till i let him.

I didn't realize until today how much weight Knox has put on. He was in pretty bad shape

Luka used to eat everything. We took him to petsmart and our trainer worked with us on the leave it command which has really helped. It takes time and patience. Also if you're repeating a command multiple times its basically useless. Our trainer taught us one time and that's it. We started out with hand signals I can put my had flat out upside down with my three fingers out and luka will automatically sit without me saying a word. Luckily our trainer has experience with huskies so we were lucky.

Awe lovely. I've been waiting till Luka is fully grown to splurge and buy him an expensive harness. Almost there.. Only plus is I'm recycling all his puppy collars, leashes, harnesses with Knox.

Luka despises cats and squirrels. He's never seen a raccoon or anything else but i bet he wouldn't be a fan. like suka, he doesn't seem to be interested in going after small dogs. the only problem i have with him is he's so big and they're so small and he about crushes them trying to play. he's learned to be careful to Knox now but at first i had to keep them separated because Luka literally ran him over. i agree with [MENTION=1869]sutsibe[/MENTION] it depends on your dog. they're all different.

Knox, my pitbull puppy is slightly food aggressive. It's important to nip that in the bud. I take his bowl away whenever i please to show him i give the food and i can take it whenever i want. I'm the alpha and that's that. I'm not about to be bitten when he's older and has jaws of steel haha

i think the entire city of Southaven, MS thinks Luka is a wolf. My favorite is how people argue with you on the breed of YOUR dog. Yes, lady I took a wolf out of the wild and have raised him from the time he was a cub... NOT. I guess it doesn't help that Luka is in that lanky stage. I also get asked if i feed him? no, i starve him. i try to not be rude but sometimes i just want to answer their stupid questions with stupid answers. lol

i will say Labs do shed a lot. Obviously not as much as Luka but the hair texture is very different. i find it harder to get my mom's lab's hair off of my clothes than i do my husky. it weaves into the fabric and sticks because it's so course. i let their lab Cody ride in my car a few times and it took me months to get the hair out.

You should breed him with a wolf. That's such a waste to have him neutered you could make so much money! Where'd you get him? I want a husky! To which I refuse to say people are so dumb they have no idea how much work it is.

Knox is like seriously Luka? she wanted us to look nice. lol leave it to Luka i swear. it just shows his personality so much hahah
