  1. i've stepped on Luka a number of occasions because he is right behind me and i didn't know. i've also tripped over him trying NOT to step on him and hurt myself. lol
  2. sounds like he's marking to me. since he's now 2 i don't know if neutering him would change that... i'll let someone more experienced answer that. But for his energy... Luka hasn't lost any of his spunk from being neutered. he's just as annoying as usual. My trainer said nothing changes personality, they do mellow out a bit as they get older but neutering him won't make him less playful.
  3. i can't even go to the bathroom by myself without Luka following me. I"D LIKE TO PEE ALONE THANK YOU! sorry if that is TMI but i just would like some privacy. lol
  4. Chicken Empanadas You Will Need: 3 cups chopped chicken (I used a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store) 1 8 oz. package of kraft mexican shredded cheese 8 oz. cream cheese 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper 1/4 cup chopped tomato 1 half of a jalapeno (seeded and chopped) 1 tbspn cumin 1 1/2 tspn salt 1 tspn pepper 2 (15 oz) refrigerated pie crusts water Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Start off by mixing your chicken and your next eight ingredients. It should be a thick consistency but not too thick. Then roll out your pie crust and cut out circles with a 3 in. cookie cutter. Repeat with your remaining pie crusts. I only used three pie crusts but i wound up throwing away some left over mixture. It's up to you to decide. You can always freeze any extra mixture. After you have cut out your rounds place one heaping teaspoon in the center of your round. After you have done that gently fold over your round and seal closed with a fork. It makes quite a bit of empanadas so i wound up using two sheet pans. Bake in the oven for fifteen to twenty minutes or until golden brown. I usually serve with sour cream.
  5. Luka likes: rawhide treats (his favorite no beef flavored just plain please), any type of stuffed toys (exp. ones that have a squeaker), any regular dog treats (grain-free only please and he really likes pumpkin flavored anything), a cute Christmas collar size Large (he likes to dress for the holidays lol). No allergies and Luka is pretty easy to please he loves toys and he's running pretty low right now (destroys everything)! I like anything husky related i would love one of those stickers for my car (I've seen one that say I love my Siberian husky). I'm not big on candy but I like any type of salty snack!! Oh and my favorite color is green So exciting!!
  6. lol he is something else today huh?
  7. i live down south in Mississippi, it gets over 100 degrees here in the summers. Luka was fine, i just don't leave him outside unattended. Make sure there is plenty of water available to keep him hydrated and we had our walks at night. We also bought him a pool to play in which he loved. He doesn't seem to mind but he sure does love when it starts getting cold.
  8. RIP Timber. May you run free over the rainbow bridge. You were a beautiful boy and your mom was blessed to have you.
  9. You never know! Luka didn't have to have one!!
  10. Thanks so much! I like that idea! It may make his food more appealing as well
  11. Luka does this bad. I woke up yesterday to notice that half of a pillow case was missing. I found it the next day in his poop... Yup. I asked our trainer because Luka will swallow something whole if he thinks you'll take it and he said use treats! Ill let you know how it works. He said approach him calmly and offer a treat and he should drop it for the treat. For the meantime I keep socks and underwear AWAY from him.
  12. That's exactly what I meant. I'm not saying you don't spend time with jelly I'm saying when you are tempted to game do something with her instead. I understand about procrastinating I'm the queen of it, just maybe focus some of that time you'd spend gaming on her or something more productive. As hard as it buy a planner and get organized !! It helps load, color code things and know due dates! I promise you even though procrastinating is easy when you finish something early it feels so good ! Just my input because that's what I had to do!
  13. Luka loves to. He used rolls of toilet paper to make it snow in my room once!
  14. thanks al! i've heard it a million times but sometimes i just need reassurance lol. he is not like any dog i've ever had so i second guess myself sometimes. i think i'm doing something wrong when really it's just Luka being a typical husky. That picture is from a few weeks ago he looks a little thinner than that now in my personal opinion but it seems like he loses weight and than gains it. 2 weeks ago he was 38 lbs at 7 months and i thought that was a decent weight for him. I don't think he's going to be a huge boy. It just gets where you second guess yourself when you constantly have people asking you if you're feeding your dog. OBVIOUSLY idiots. lol Our vet has a GSD X Husky so I think he's going off of his dog's weight which is built way more thick than Luka is. He did eat his breakfast this morning and all of it so that makes me feel much better. Besides, call me cheap but i just spent like 55 dollars on that bag of food and i want to use it all. haha His food will be changing at a year anyways.
  15. hope you feel better! try some saltine crackers and ginger ale! small sips until you know you can keep some down!
  16. Luka is very active and hyper! never calms down lol. i figured he would always be on the lean side, i just didn't know when lean was too lean! he loves veggies, there is just no where around here to buy raw meat for an affordable price. butchers aren't common here and the only 1 i've ever seen is very expensive. i could try the yogurt mixed in. My vet doesn't recommend raw feeding so it's kind of hard to get advice from him on that one. glad to see i'm not alone!
  17. i couldn't imagine living with my parents again. and honestly, i don't think they could imagine me living with them again. haha it is funny how now that i'm almost 23 i look back and see many of the fights i had with my parents were so petty and stupid. and that at the end of the day they really were right and just trying to help me become the person that i am today. i know this will just continue as i get older. sometimes i think kids forget to appreciate their parents and don't realize that they won't be there forever.
  18. the rank them?! oh GOD! lol Luka has graduation next week.
  19. 2 cups per day. It's like for starters he refuses to eat in the mornings. Then when i get home he will wind up picking at his breakfast. Sometimes he eats the whole thing and then later that night I give him around 1/2 cup more. It's a 50/50 chance he'll eat that. He just went to the vet last weekend because he was neutered and the vet said he is extremely healthy but a little on the thin side. Which i might add is what we hear EVERYTIME we go to the vet. He is always "underweight". I haven't been too worried about it because he's a husky until recently. I don't know if i'm giving him enough time to eat his food in the mornings. I sit it down at 7:15 and i'm picking it back up at 7:45. That evening i feel so bad when i get home that i set it out again. Like i said sometimes he eats it, sometimes he doesn't or he just picks at it. At first this was only like every other day, now it's like he goes a week without eating in the morning and then this morning he gobbles every bite down. He acts the same as he always does, like a complete psycho so his energy is not low. ha. I just want to make sure he's getting the proper nutrients and stop being so PICKY! Which brings me back to my point if i should switch his food. Also, He's not on a grain-free food anymore, he's on Fromms Gold so i don't see how 1 cup of food could be sufficient. If he was on TOTW again and eating less i wouldn't sweat it, i know you cut the portion size down.
  20. He won't ever eat the kibble again. haha i feel like that will just make the problem worse because he won't want anything but the good stuff.
  21. Luka does this occasionally. Not really sure why, but it is disgusting. He prefers massive clumps of mud. No idea, but he doesn't do it frequently so i don't worry too much about it. Interested to see if there is a cause though.
